This message landed in April 2025 (see last slide🥲:))) We’d been deep in formulation for almost a year at that point and honestly, there were moments I questioned whether we were being unreasonable. Manufacturers told me to simplify. To use simpler actives, go with a standard base. Cut costs. Launch faster. I said no. Every single time. Every girl enjoys being a little difficult sometimes ;))) — but that was because I’d spent a lot of time studying skin biology, understanding what actually moves the needle at a cellular level, and I knew exactly what this product needed to be. Settling for “good enough” was never on the table. We reformulated more times than I can count. We rejected batches that most brands would have happily shipped. We pushed back on ingredient concentrations when we were told nobody would notice the difference... *I* noticed the difference. There’s a version of Aurabiōm that could have launched a year earlier. Cheaper to produce, easier to sell. And completely mediocre. That version doesn’t exist because I wouldn’t let it. Anti-ageing gets much more interesting when you start thinking about what ageing skin is progressively becoming less efficient at doing for itself. Repair, energy production, collagen synthesis, matrix maintenance. Cellular signalling. That’s why I’m so interested in the combination of red light + copper peptides. Two different biological inputs, overlapping with processes involved in maintaining healthy skin: photobiomodulation on one side; GHK-Cu and its fascinating relationship with fibroblasts, collagen, elastin, extracellular-matrix remodelling and repair signalling on the other. But it is none of the “reverse your age overnight” nonsense. Just a much more interesting philosophy of anti-ageing: support the machinery responsible for youthfulness instead of exclusively attacking the evidence that it’s ageing.
