I already posted a reel with these pictures, but wanted them front and center in a post to get some attention before i post the comic.

Also, yes, the Mpreg Jax was a joke, but I’m playing with it because it’s funny and people gave it more attention than the drawings I spent hours on.

The final cries on the battlefield give way to sobs around you. Men you know fallen and men you’ve fought against finally spent. Men should never cry like this.
You fall to your knees, sore, leaning on your spear for balance. You can’t let yourself rest more. To lay on this ground feels like the end. Defeat. And worse, like you didn’t survive.
But you look up at the sky. The sun breaks through the clouds.
You survived.
Now you can live.

This is a piece based off of a picture taken by @katpatgirl.official. She reminded me today that I wasn’t finished with it, so I took a couple hours to get the sketch to a drawing.

This is a small glimpse into a part of my life that still lingers.
I’m the oldest of seven kids, and a few years ago, I nearly lost my 7-year-old sister who had sudden intestine failure. My mom was with her at the hospital, and dad was at work. We had babysitters during the majority of the time, but my other sister and I felt like we were shouldering it anyway.

To watch each sibling cry, knowing we might not see my little sister again broke me. Thankfully she did survive the surgery that removed eight inches of her intestines that had died, and the second time when it started dying again.

I truly am grateful every time I see how much better she is that she survived. She still struggles with eating now that her relationship with food’s been affected, but she’s healthy, and so brave.
