Kindergarten photo day.

I was 5, my hair was fine and thin, and those curls my mom worked so hard on were not holding.

I walked into school that morning fully convinced I looked like a supermodel.

The slip barely peeking out under my dress (lol) had me feeling like a grown woman.

The confidence in that tiny little smile is something I'm still carrying today.

My oldest, Jackson, is about to start kindergarten, and this photo feels like the end of one chapter and the beginning of a whole new one for both of us. I look at him and somehow see the baby he was, the five-year-old he is, and the big kid he’s becoming all at once.

This is my son reading. Something that has never come easily for him and every time it appears on our frame, my boys start talking about the hard thing, how they've practiced, and what they like to read. My husband and I just look at each other and smile, because this photo is what hard work and the right support actually look like.

We partnered with @erinfoster to clear some teacher's wishlists and put an Aura frame in classrooms for kids to see how much they've grown throughout the year.

"Reminiscing and connection give our kids a sense of belonging" @drchloemassey and photos are a helpful catalyst in small moments of conversation and connection with our kids each day.
