SAVE FOR LATER 🥰I can’t believe I had the honour of learning from Andy aka Anuja :) spend time with her and Anya, her wonderful daughter who is now a friend ❤️Going in, I had no expectations- I didn’t know whether I was going to like it, how well was I was going to do, whether I’m artsy enough for something like this - I had no idea.So, off I went on a 1 week retreat & these are some random bits I have to mention:a) I had no idea that hand building in pottery will turn out to be such an antidote for my perfectionism. I could do anything, make anything, give my piece whatever shape I wanted, it could be asymmetric, it could be a woo woo shape but it was still mine. My hands were doing whatever they wanted & that felt quite freeing!b) Pottery for me was very perspective building.. because I never realised how mental it is. The utter concentration you require, the flow state you go into, the way you patiently sit around to create something that you may have to destroy..so refreshing than any of the other things I’ve learnt in the last few years that needed more precision, bodywork etcc) a retreat is a great way to understand whether you like the kind of art you’re getting into..what if you absolutely dislike it & you realise it’s not for you, right? Hence, retreats are so important & they should be taken advantage of, for other sports & techniques too. Cooking, surfing, pottery, breathwork, yoga & so on. d) I approve of the slow to mid paced retreat that are hosted at Aura- we slogged our asses in the nicest way possible at the studio and then had enough time to read, journal, chill, sit in the sun etc. The food everyday was nutritious, soulful & my tummy was happy throughout.e) Every thing at Aura has a story- a glimpse into what they’ve built together as mother-daughter is enough to inspire you. The farm, the pottery studio, the way they manage things, the dogs, the way the place came up, their way of life, in itself- is a window into possibilities for how you could lead your own life. ❤️Pottery was on my vision board for this year ✅ & im so glad I started with Aura ✨Do you see yourself taking up pottery? :) Love#pottery #travel #retreat by @aurapottery

For the next 2 months, Aura is AS lush as it gets. Gentle and continuous drizzles, and the occasional serious downpour - I could be biased but I will never love a season quite like Monsoon at Aura.
