👥What if the shadow beneath the trees was a mother still searching for her child? 🕯️

🦇In Cirencester, in the heart of the Cotswolds, local folklore tells of the Grey Lady of St John the Baptist Church. Carrying a small posy of flowers, she searches for the grave of her child, tragically lost to smallpox.

🕯In this telling, his grave is unmarked. There is no name to call her home, no stone beneath which she can finally lay her flowers.

🧟‍♀️Picture her beneath the trees as twilight settles over the churchyard and the nearby park: a soft grey figure, a shadow moving through the autumn mist. You step closer… but the figure fades. No footsteps. No one there. Only leaves stirring in the cold.

🕯There is something deeply ancestral about this story—the grief carried by those who came before us, the names forgotten, and a mother’s love that refuses to stop searching.

🦇As Samhain approaches and the veil grows thin, what stories might the shadows still be keeping?

👉Follow Aura Sukha for more ghost legends, ancestral folklore, and stories from beyond. 🌙

🐈‍⬛✨ A little wildness. A little mystery. A little magick curled beside you.

A cat’s purr contains frequencies reported around 20–150 hertz—a soft, rhythmic vibration that has inspired research into its potential role in healing. In sound therapy, cat purrs can physically heal themselves and possibly humans , but the comfort of a purring companion is its own kind of magic.

In witchcraft and folklore, cats are guardians of the unseen—believed to see spirits and sense energies, welcome or unwelcome. Agile and enigmatic, they seem to walk between the earthly world and the spirit realm, noticing what escapes our eyes. 🌙

Treasured since ancient Egypt, these beautiful creatures have become beloved companions and magical guides. The cat’s place beside the witch lives on: mysterious, independent, intuitive—the perfect familiar.

Who’s your perfect familiar? 🖤🐾

🌬DID YOU KNOW?

⚔️ In ancient Viking times, Nordic sorcerers and witches were believed to command the weather and the elements—capturing the wind within three enchanted knots.

🪢 Three knots. 🪢Three winds.
🪢One final warning.

✍️In 1555, Olaus Magnus wrote of northern sorcerers who sold sailors ropes enchanted with the winds—each cord bound with three carefully tied knots.

🎐Untie the first knot, and a gentle breeze awakens, filling the sails and carrying the ship calmly across the water.

🪢Untie the second, and the wind grows wild and powerful, driving the vessel swiftly over the waves.

💨But the third knot held the storm.

🌬To loosen it was to release roaring winds, blackened skies and a sea that could swallow the ship whole.

⛵️So the sailor carried the rope like a charm—part protection, part promise and part warning—knowing that the greatest power should always remain bound.

🤔Would you dare to untie the third knot?
