⚽️ FROM WA GOLDEN MEDAL WINNER TO OAKLEIGH CANNONS STAR! 🌟

Alex Salmon was back on the scoresheet for Oakleigh Cannons last night, but his journey through Australian football began in Western Australia, where he quickly established himself as one of the state’s most prolific goalscorers.

After starting the 2016 season at Armadale before moving to Bayswater City, Salmon finished the campaign with 11 goals in 15 appearances across the two clubs.

It was in 2017, however, where he truly exploded — scoring a remarkable 29 goals in 25 matches, claiming the NPL WA Golden Boot and the prestigious Men’s Gold Medal as the league’s Player of the Year. 🏆

Despite serving a suspension carried over from the previous season, Salmon still managed 17 goals in 20 appearances in 2018 before eventually making the move to Victoria.

A prolific spell at Green Gully, where he consistently featured among the competition’s leading scorers, paved the way for his move to Oakleigh Cannons.

Since joining the Cannons, Salmon has continued his goalscoring exploits, adding another NPL Victoria Golden Boot, league titles and a premiership this year to an already impressive résumé.

From the WA NPL to becoming one of Victoria’s most prolific strikers, Salmon’s journey is another reminder of the talent developed in Western Australia. 👏
