Wow 🤩 My first ever Elite Gravel World Championships 💚💛! Lining up at Worlds wearing the green and gold and racing alongside the best in the world, felt pretty surreal. A dream come true 🇦🇺!
With conditions tougher than expected, it was a BIG day out. 125km, 3,178m of elevation, 5hrs 7mins of racing and 30th place.

It’s been a time of reflection since crossing the finish line. Of course, I would have loved to performed better. But this race has also reminded me how far I’ve come, both on and off the bike. Since getting healthy again, I’ve had to feel the reality that my body has changed. I’ve gained over 10kg since last year, and I’m not climbing as fast as I once did. This is a really hard thing to accept and at times it leaves me feeling conflicted about recovery.
There are still moments when the ED voices come creeping in, and I question whether being healthy is worth it. But I know a healthy Tori is a happy Tori. I’m learning that progress isn’t always linear, and I hope that with time, consistent training and patience the performance will come too.

So, with that I look back and say WOW. What an incredible experience to represent Australia in the green and gold, lining up alongside with amazing women I look up to. Also being part of such an incredible team.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped me get there. My family @wendybarry65, @hugobarry who made the trip to support me. Having you there gave me so much confidence, and getting a hug at the finish line was the best feeling ever. I wish my Dad had been there too 🤍🕊️. The boys at work @giantadelaide who are always in my corner, encouraging me and giving me confidence, sharing tips and making me laugh every day. I’m so lucky to have you all backing me.
@livcycling_aus for getting me out on the new Devote Advanced SL 1. What an absolute weapon of a race bike! It felt incredible and is soooo pretty 😍💜. @nxtlvl.pc for putting together a 7 week program in the lead up and giving me the best preparation possible within the short time.
And fuelling the day with 650g of carb from @sul_nutrition with their mix and gels.

No words for yesterday, battle to the end with my best mate for the rainbows 🌈🥹 @ryangilchrist73 super proud of you brother, world champion!

I don’t think people quite understand the sacrifices, heart, blood sweat and tears it takes to put it all together, travel across the world from Australia and rise to the occasion and make dreams a reality for a world title

I’ve been there with this guy for most of the journey and although our disciplines differ slightly, we are always supporting and pushing each other chasing these dreams.

2 years away from enduro for me into one of the biggest and most physical race days ever, I knew it was going to be tough off a DH season, my day didn’t go perfectly to plan but I’m very proud of my efforts out there 🥊 getting 3 stage wins, but didn’t quite have the legs needed on the longer ones, ending the day in 4th with nothing in it! if it wasn’t me I wouldn’t want it to be anyone else 🐟

I’ve missed enduro, more enduros in the future!

Huge thanks to @canadianbacon828 and mum and dad for flying out and supporting me on this side quest!

Now time for a much needed break for the both of us! 💙
