Creating a feature surrounding an internal garden bed has never been so much fun. This circular picture frame surrounding a lush garden section will definitely be the feature of this backyard.

Using #timbertech composite board enabled us to create a 2.7 meter internal radius for this section, the results speak for themselves.

🇦🇺 2023 Australian Deck and Handrail Awards 🏆
BEST OVERALL DECK – WINNER

A truly outstanding project by the team at @gjrdecking in Queensland, taking home the prestigious Best Overall Deck Award for 2023.

This incredible build certainly didn’t go unnoticed, featuring nationally in @trexcompany_australia’s television advertising campaign.

A fantastic example of the craftsmanship, attention to detail and dedication that continues to raise the standard of decking across Australia.

As Australia’s only dedicated Deck and Handrail Association, ADHRA is proud to recognise and celebrate the talented professionals who continue to set the benchmark for our industry.

Congratulations to the entire team at GJR Decking and everyone involved in bringing this exceptional project to life.

Byford | Pool House 📸

As construction continues, the sheer size and scale of this project is really starting to take shape.

Day by day, what was once an idea on paper is evolving into the finished outdoor living space our clients envisioned from the beginning.

At this stage, there is no room for guesswork. Every detail matters.

We work closely with our clients through every decision. from decking, cladding and the custom bench through to stonework, electrical, plumbing, fixtures and finishes. Each element needs to work together to create one complete, considered space.

This is exactly the type of project we specialise in at BL Carpentry Services, custom outdoor living spaces built around our clients, their home and the way they want to live.

As we move into the finishing stages, patience and attention to detail become even more important. This is where we slow things down, refine every finish and make sure the final result is something we are proud to put the BL Carpentry name behind.

Meet the ADHRA board.
Five people giving their time to bring the standard of our industry up.

I joined as the executive member responsible for memberships.
11 and a half years ago I moved from Brazil to Australia to start a career from zero.
Today I work with some of the best deck builders in the country, I call most of them friends, and the members trusted me with this seat.
Thank you.

Welcome to Tom Dillon, who looks after marketing and social media, and thank you to Troy Cleyne, Phil Hutt and Mark Behnecke for the work they put in.

Next year we want to help the association grow as much as we can and keep raising the bar on quality.
Every day we keep fighting so more people get the correct information and use the right materials, and so homeowners can find builders who take every step to build decks to the correct standard.

Proud member of the Australian Deck And Handrail Association.
Working towards bringing the industry standards up every day.

On behalf of the ADHRA board would like to acknowledge and thank all members who renewed their membership for the 26/27 financial year.

AGM- We are legally obliged to conduct a year AGM which gives all financial members the opportunity to participate, and or nominate for a position on the board. We encourage any member who wants to get involved to put their hand up at this time to do so.

• If 2 or more members nominated for the same position, the position will be determined by a vote on the night with a show of hands, as stated above.

• If there is any vacant position left on the night, this position can be filled after the AGM by a current fully paid member should they nominate for that vacancy, and the board accepts their application.

• If no ADHRA members nominates for a board position, that position automatically remains the same with the current board member should they wish to remain.

As per AGM guidelines- all board positions will be available to be contested and voted upon.

I would also like to welcome all our new members who have joined ADHRA in the past few months.
And thank all of our sponsors

Regards
ADHRA BOARD

@westbeechconstruction sent us a couple of photos of a tired old deck and got us on the phone for fifteen minutes. That was the whole brief.

They already knew what they wanted the space to become, and they wanted @newtechwoodaustralia on it.
We drew it up, they walked their client through it, and once everyone was happy with the renders we finished the site layout, every joist, bearer and footing counted.

A couple of weeks later they went to site, built it, and sent these back.

The concept plan was there to show their client how it would look and sell the job.
The site layout was there so they could organize the crew, order the materials and execute without guessing.

The decking is NewTechWood Terrace in Teak, their call, and it was the right one.
Great range, great colours, easy to install.
For years when I worked on the tools I installed their boards, and we never had a single issue.
Zero callbacks, zero defects.

Same attention to detail on the planning side and on the execution side. That is the result.

Thanks to West Beech Construction for the opportunity to work on this one.

Comment PLAN if you want yours done the same way.
