"My friend shall forever be my friend and reflect a ray of God to me"~ Henry David ThoreauStruggling with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia is a painful and lonely life. I wasn't able to maintain friendships as I was mostly housebound, and at times, bedridden for weeks!I started my Insta gallery back in February 2013, after my daughter downloaded it for me! It was so amaZing to discover this photography loving craZy community, right here on my phone! I threw myself into the experience and began posting photos of my beloved lake, in which I was lucky enough at the time, to live a stone's throw away from!Little did I know that this little app would be such a source of company for me, and a place where I have met so many friends from all around this beautiful planet of ours🌏Some of my earliest IG friends are now my besties in 'real life'. @earthly_shannon you will forever be my very first Insta friend who I met "face to face"!😘.I have met some of the friendliest and funnest IGers through attending Instameets over the years, both local and further afield. My very first Instameet was in Sydney. I drove down with @ksenijaal We had never met in person before. I remember we joked how our families and friends had said to us both, "Aren't you worried these people who you're meeting up with may be axe murderers"?? Lol🤣😘 Mel @rightofthemiddle was another "axe murderer" I met from that very first Instameet, and is now one of my closest girlfriends💃🏼.Others I've met up with when I have travelled. I have many IG friends from my involvement as a Moderator in a Seagull Hub. IG challenges have also been the start of many a friendship, and to each other we are CBs forever💜 (CB = Challenge Buddy) And still countless more just from the simple pleasure of admiring each other's photos!From having such a lack of friends for so many years to an abundance.... I have found my tribe😎 Thank you Instagram I sure feel blessed🙏To all my beautiful IG buddies, I'd like to say "Thank You" for your friendship. Day 24: Reflection@rebels_united#RebelsUnitedJuly2026POTD#rujuly2026potd_day24 This is the famous massive underground structure in Istanbul, Turkey, the Basilica Cistern (locally known as Yerebatan Sarnıcı, meaning "Sunken Palace"). One of the things that I absolutely delighted in while in Europe, was wandering around the "old towns" and picturesque ports, capturing the many quaint doors and windows, decorated in bright colours and surrounded with the most beautiful flower pots and plants. I was in photographer's paradise!This door in the back streets of Katakolon, was one of my absolute faves. And I'm so happy that a lovely shop owner offered to snap me in front of it!
