I. AM. GROOT! 😭🙌🏼🌳❤️🥹💪🏼

(Literally) From November of 2021 to May of 2022 I had the incredible honor to be the on-camera and motion capture actor for Groot in @guardiansofthegalaxy Volume 3 & The Holiday Special! 🌲

Seven incredible months working alongside and across from some of the most amazingly talented people in the world. So many thanks to so many amazing people:

To @chase68 of Feldsetein/Paris casting for bringing me in. To my ever-creative juggernaut of an agent @jason_lockhart for the push plus his hands and feet @kellay715 & @sup3rmadi. To @sarahfinncasting for driving casting and closing our deal on the west coast.

@jamesgunn- Thank you for letting me play in the sandbox of your world. It was an honor, sir
@prattprattpratt- Your energy and kindness inspired me. (We still need to play golf too…)
@zoesaldana- You are an elegant badass and fearless actor.
@davebautista- I was humbled by your kindness and deep soul. Plus your quiet rumbling laugh had me cracking up always.
@karengillan- The first guardian I met on set and the kindest, most endearing person behind that stoic robot face! I was scared my first day and you made me feel so welcome.
@pom.klementieff- Your jokes and voices made every day an absolute joy.
@chukwudi_iwuji- You, my brother, are a f*cking powerhouse. So excited for the world to see your star shine.
@mariabakalovaofficial- My set bestie and all-around baddie. You’re one good dog!
@thejudgegunn- You have knees of steel and a heart of gold, captain.
@willpoulter- Speaking of Gold! A performance worthy of a Warlock.
@nicosantos- I loved how much I hated you!

My whole Knowhere crew. Our entire hardworking, badass crew & post team ❤️❤️

I feel so blessed for the opportunity to put my small stamp on my favorite character in my favorite franchise in the entire MCU.

Your boy is a frickin’ Guardian of the Galaxy!

I had such a fun time capturing this experience and creating with such a talented group of people, capture these moments, and be part of the VinoBarrel experience was genuinely such a good time.

Big thank you to everyone who brought the energy, creativity, and good vibes to this one. 🥂🎥

And of course, @sethlytle_atl thank you for creating VinoBarrel and for letting me be a part of it. What you’re building is something special, and I’m excited to see where it goes.

Until the next one 🥂✨

A dream that began in 2009 turned into a horror screenplay inspired by Macbeth, and the 1st I ever optioned in Los Angeles. It nearly got made, twice, by “bigshot producers” but alas, did not, and was super depressing. Until... over a decade later, a strike-filled summer, and convos with @jessemalinowski began about taking matters into our own hands. With the incredible help & passion of so many more talented peeps (like @sarkopkin @austinfreeman @candacefitco @samvansickle & then some) this film is finally done, on IMDb, and almost ready for the world! Stay tuned as we navigate the distribution journey. We made this film for YOU, the audience, and truly hope you have a fantastical & chilling experience with it one day!
