Happy 36 to the lightbeam in my life. I can’t wait to bear witness to the magic you make manifest in the year ahead 💫💫💫 by @austinmorton

“In the end, people don’t view their life as merely the average of all its moments – which, after all, is mostly nothing much plus some sleep. For human beings, life is meaningful because it is a story.”
– Atul Gawande

Here’s to writing the next chapter together❣️Happy 35th, my love! @justin_guess (I promise we’ll take more pictures together in 2021 😂😘) by @austinmorton

Following the lead of my genius friend @justindavidcox: I’ve recently been afforded a generous opportunity to have donations (up to $10K) to @naacp @aclu_nationwide and @naturbanleague double matched (ex. $50 becomes $150).
I’m creating a donation pool today to help amplify my own contributions and, thus, take better advantage of the double-match offer.
If you’re interested in donating, Venmo your donation to @austinmorton with your email and organization of choice (if you have a preference) in the comment, so I can send you a record of your donation. I will make the lump sum donations on Sunday evening unless our max is reached before then.
Any donations made to me after the max is reached will be returned so that you can donate directly. And if you are (understandably) wary of sending donations by proxy, I encourage you to consider contributing directly to these three wonderful organizations, as well as those at the local level doing equally important work. Finally, please share this post if you feel so inclined. by @austinmorton

“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.” -Ranier Maria Rilke ☁️☁️☁️ by @austinmorton

You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting – over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.

"I've traveled round and I ain't found nobody quite like you.
And is all this living meant to be or a happy accident?
Well in my heart you pay no rent, in my heart you pay no rent." 🎶🎤🎻🎸 by @austinmorton
