Our imaginations are our path-makers…
Every act of art-making, storytelling, healing, organizing, and dreaming opens space for futures that don’t yet exist.

But creating meaningful change requires more than passion…it needs community, nourishment, play, and practices that keep us connected to what matters.

This August, we’re gathering artists, visionaries, changemakers, and activists at Wildheart in the Hudson Valley to explore what it means to create in service of a more just and liberated world.

We can’t wait for the Student Leadership Conference we’re co-hosting with @sfwaldorfhighschool next week! Excitement is in the air as we get ready to welcome students and educators from across San Francisco (@bayschoolsf) and as far away as Santa Rosa (@summerfieldwaldorf ), Sacramento (@sacwaldorf), and Santa Cruz (@santacruzwaldorf)!

Working intergenerationally in small groups, participants in this year’s conference will strengthen a sense of their own identity to build bridges across differences and initiate and continue to build inclusive, transformative culture in their schools.

Students: Get ready for an amazing conference experience! After our opening ceremony, dive into interactive workshops and breakout sessions where you can connect with students from other schools. Explore your creativity, join affinity groups, and enjoy fun social activities that celebrate our theme. Plus, stick around for awesome evening socials—Movies? Dancing? Yes, please!

Educators: Come together for engaging breakout sessions and dynamic working groups. Enjoy unique cross-generational spaces where students and educators unite to share creative spaces and collaboration. As we move toward the end of the event, school groups will gather for a debriefing session to discuss action plans that they can take back to their classrooms. We’ll cap off our day with a vibrant closing ceremony, followed by a fun social event sponsored by The Bay School!

Y’all know that the first frontline of the struggle against hate is in the imagination.

As artists we know that this is a time when our gifts as dreamers, creators, inspirers, healers, clowns, conveners and provocateurs are urgently needed.

But we also know how tempting it is to pour out our brilliance from an empty cup, or to struggle alone with our own thirst for inspiration, hope, community in systems that devalue and oppress.

Through circle, process, play, embodiment, collaboration, and more, we’ll explore the personal, interpersonal and collective realms of what it means to be an artist in this time 🔥

The ARTISTS FOR SOCIAL CHANGE JAM is a space in the forest for us.

The jam will be in the Santa Cruz redwoods at Ahimsa Collective from October 22nd to the 26th. Applications are currently open.
