first vs final performance of my solo "corps" (even if the middle is completely different choreo... lol)

i came off of the radix stage back in january feeling really good about this solo's debut. after my last performance, however, all i could think about was what could've been better for my last time competing. seeing these videos side by side reminds me of the progress i've actually made this year. i knew going into it that this solo would be a challenge, which was what i wanted. sticking it through and continuing to work during the tougher practices has felt so rewarding in hindsight. i'm incredibly grateful to @courtneylynn818 for always supporting me and helping me push through the literal blood, sweat, and tears required for me to make this progress and get this solo to a point i can be proud of.

i know perfection isn't an attainable goal, but in working to perfect this choreography i've grown immensely as a dancer: physically, yes, but especially mentally. it's difficult to let this one go after its playing such a huge role in my life for so many months 💛 taken in New England Dance Academy by @australiawalrus

show's over 🤧

it's so hard for me to believe this was my final nationals with my second family. when i first came to neda i had no idea how much it would change my life. i would not be anywhere close to who i am now without the incredible teachers and endlessly supportive friends i've met here. i'm so grateful to everyone who believed in me and helped get me through the tough times. thank you to ms courtney and ms hope for seeing potential in me before i could even do a double pirouette, and to ms jill for all the tuesday night techniques my muscles struggled to forget. and, of course, thank you to ms stephanie and every other teacher who's given their all and more to the studio and me. i really cannot express enough how grateful i am for all of you. i've grown so much within this studio's walls (shout out to the squirrels) and i owe it all to these people who never cease to get the job done. the talent, passion, and work ethic of my teammates is nothing short of amazing. i can't wait to see all that you guys continue to make happen. thank you, neda, for surrounding me with so many remarkable yet humble individuals to constantly push me towards my absolute best.
