We’ve had an influx of new followers lately so I thought it would be nice to say hello and thanks for checking us out.

Auteur Store is an independent menswear shop located in Chorlton, South Manchester.
We are surrounded by an abundance of other great indie businesses from retailers, cafes and pubs.

We specialise in Japanese denim, Americana, Workwear and hard to find Heritage brands from the USA, Japan and some a bit closer to home.

It’s a true indie store and we only sell what we love. Everyone is welcome down to the store or check out our website if you’re a bit further afield.

Jay wears…
All about the Jelado 301xx jeans today.
For the past few years I’d say the Sugar Cane 1947 has been our most popular Japanese denim but slowly the Jelado 301xx has been catching it and finding its way into so many of your wardrobes.
Based on a classic 501 and made from a 14OZ washed Japanese Selvedge and with a fit which has a mid to high rise , room in the thighs dropping to a straight leg.

New for Autumn 2026 from Freenote Cloth is the Claypool Ranch Jacket.

Built on the DNA of the ever popular Riders Jacket from Freenote. This takes that rugged Waxed Canvas and makes it a bit more Western.

It’s a short and boxy fit which can be taken in at the waist but the action back design creates an insanely comfy jacket.

Within a day of them being on the shopfloor, they’ve flown out the door with just one size

Jay wears the new Freenote Cloth Calico Gold Corduroy Western Shirt.

It follows Freenote’s classic recipe of using the finest fabrics from Japan and combining with a Made in USA manufacturing.

It’s classic Americana and menswear with the corduroy being a nice substitute for the classic denim western shirt.

Happy Birthday To Us - Auteur Store is 3!

I guess in this day and age making it to 3 years as a small independent business truly is something to celebrate.

This last year has been fantastic and a massive contrast to the struggle of the first year and the slow build of the second.
