Day 1 of me Finding my color again. 💛
I’ve been stuck in this grey area for far too long.

Stuck somewhere between the girl I once was, the mother I want to be, and the woman I aim to become once the dust of change and postpartum settles.

I really needed to sit in silence with myself, and if you have little ones you know just how difficult that can be to accomplish.
But once I did, I spent time reflecting on my past life, and envisioning my future life… then trying to marry the 2 into my present life.

If you resonate with this let me know what you’ve done for yourself to find your color again?

There is nothing worse than a flat floppy pancake. So when you’re making your batter next time add the yolk but keep the egg white out and whip it until it get stiff peaks, then you just fold it in.

*insert Moira & David’s clip here*

Another tip to give them that perfect vanilla cake flavor… use clear vanilla and a dash of almond extract in place of vanilla extract. It’s soooo good!

Using fresh milled flour has been one of my most favorite swaps so far, whatever you cooking can get dense and flat pretty fast! So folding in the egg whites was a game changer!

Try it with whatever flour you use and let me know how it works for you!

Yes, the beach is close.
Yes, we still go.

But creating subsistence and self sufficiency has moved further up on our list than getting closer and closer to the beach.
While we love still have the easy access to go when we want, it’s not our top priority anymore.

Feeling grateful for that easy access and year round gardening weather though.

It’s still a process… the finding myself…
But I can tell you that baking and spending time with my kids and my animals is 100% doing me favors.

We’ve been loving fresh milled flour.
It was a bit of an adjustment but adding it to our daily intake has been a grain changer.

I’ll be offering fresh milled breads, cookies, and sourdough. I also plan to offer fresh milled pancake mixes, waffle mixes, and more but will need to keep it refrigerated as fresh milled flour is not shelf stable… which is why it’s so nutrient dense!

I mean if you need a link… I gotchu!

I don’t have a must haves Amazon list though. We’re trying to consume less and repurpose more. But there a few things that Amazon can be good for.

Anyways, I milled fresh flour last night and whipped up these bagels. Woke up early this morning to bake them and ughhhh…. They were delightful. So perfect.

Testing out recipes can be challenging and feel like a waste of time, money, and ingredients at time but this one was perfecto on the first try!

Can’t wait for the farmstand to open! I’ll be announcing an opening date soon, but we’re working hard behind the scene right now to build and bake!

Practicing gratitude today.
Grateful for this property(that we almost didn’t look at), grateful for space to roam, 360° views, clean water, fresh food, baby chicks, treehouses, pastures, and peace.

While my body is still in such a regulating phase after months (truly years) of dysregulation… I know it will come as long as I don’t stop practicing gratitude daily for these small but impactful things.

Go get yourself a little farm and some baby chicks. 🐥🐣

Mental health… am I right!?

Stuck somewhere in between, but I’ve been feeling like I should be feeling nothing but immense joy and happiness… but my mind goes elsewhere.

I love our new home, I love our property, my family, this little farm we’re creating… but my body is still stuck in flight or flight after years of what felt like survival.

Surviving change after change, moves, mold, and mental health.

But I am blessed. Above all else.

Some days are better than others but that’s definitely life.

Finding a community, and a rythymn that works for you and your family is my only advice. Your kids will succeed at anything in life if you teach them to never give up.
