I don’t want more of my corporate career...but I sure as hell am not done.

And I think that’s the part of leaving corporate nobody really prepares you for.

I know what I DON’T want.

I don’t want another giant job.
I don’t want someone else owning my calendar.
I don’t want back-to-back meetings.
I don’t want Sunday anxiety.
I don’t want to spend my life waiting for the next vacation.

But I also don’t want to stop making money. 💰️
I don’t want to stop doing something that matters.
I don’t want to spend the next 20 years letting myself get old because I’m “retired.”
And I definitely don’t want freedom from corporate just to build myself another life I need a vacation from.

So THAT’S what I’m figuring out now.

How do I build a life after corporate that gives me:

Money.
Purpose.
Health.
Freedom.

Things I’m rethinking lately:

How much sleep I actually need.

What “healthy” even means for me now.

Whether the workouts I’ve always done are still the workouts my body needs.

Why I’m still trying to eat the way I did when I was 35.

What I’m putting on my skin every single day.

What’s actually in the supplements I’m taking—and where they came from.

Why being exhausted became something I was supposed to just push through.

And maybe the biggest one:

Why I keep expecting the same things I’ve always done to work for a body and a life that have changed.

I don’t think midlife is about trying harder at the old stuff.

I think it might be about figuring out what works now.

If you’re over 40 and trying to make money outside corporate, you probably don’t need another business idea.

You need a filter.

Because “Can I make money doing this?” isn’t the same as:

“Do I actually want to build my life around this?”

Figure out how you want to work, get paid, and live—then choose the business.

There’s a strange moment that happens when you realize the career you worked so hard to build… isn’t actually the life you want anymore.

Not because you’re ungrateful.
Not because you couldn’t keep climbing.
Not because you suddenly lost your ambition.

You just started wanting different things.

More control over your time.
More space in your life.
More freedom to decide what your days actually look like.

And maybe success doesn’t need to mean another promotion, another title, or another decade building someone else’s vision.

Maybe this season is about asking a completely different question:

What would I build if the life I wanted came first?

That question changed a lot for me.

Everyone complains about the four-day week after a Monday holiday.

Because somehow you’re still expected to get five days of work done.

Just in four.

But I think there’s another reason it feels so brutal.

Monday showed you what your life could look like.

Coffee without rushing.

A walk in the middle of the morning.

Lunch without checking your calendar.

A whole day that belonged to you.

Then Tuesday comes.

And suddenly you’re trying to cram your entire life around work again.

Maybe that’s why the short week feels so long.
