Can I be honest with y’all?!?

Prior to my break up in April ya girl was single for ah-hem…8 years. Yea, you heard that right. Now, before you judge let me give you some back story.

I ended my engagement in 2015 after wrestling with the decision for 3 months. Prior to that we were together for 4.5 years. And before you ask, no I won’t speak any more on this. This is the first time I’ve spoke publicly about it. No matter how it ended I respect what we had too much to put him in a poor light.

It took me a min to bounce back after that bc ya girl was bitter and jaded so I decided I’d bury my head in ministry and allow God to handle the broken pieces. (Sorry to the men who tried to holla and was met with a beautiful yet disgruntled rebuke). Nonetheless God had me hidden for a long season. And I loved that for me.

Towards the end of our relationship I decided to live pure since I was growing closer to Christ. Fast forward to now it’s been 8 years of not only abstinence, but purity. Yea, I know to some of y’all this isn’t a badge of honor. But I’m cheering for my ladies and fellas who get it.

I said all that to say, ya girl has tried to open up and date again and chilllleee it’s weird out here. I’m not a man basher so don’t ever expect to hear that from me. I’ve met some decent men they just weren’t my person.

And let me say this…sis has had a lot of work to do to. So it’s not only them!

All that to say, “God gon’ have to send him bc I ain’t lookin!” So before you go hopping in my dm’s make sure you talked to God first. For those still on read, it’s not personal it’s exercising wisdom.

I’ve decided to put the pen back in Gods hand and let him write my love story. Soon enough we’ll move to the next chapter until then, Y’all be safe out here in these dating streets though. by @authenticallysalange

The part of partnership that makes singleness feel empty… Because truly, there’s nothing like feeling seen, supported, and cared for.

Simple things such as:

Reaching for the handle to pump gas
Strong arming the groceries from the car to the house
Picking up the tab
Showing up with dinner after a long day
Store runs when the body is fighting a cold
Pulling up and opening the car door

So many more to list. Ladies help me out…
