✨a cozy RomComtasy coming soon✨
Knights, birds, & significant silliness
healthcare worker/mom mayhem
for readers, writers, & those who are both

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

UNVEILING: a comedic Romantasy (or a RomComtasy, we’re making it a thing!) with cozy academia vibes, forced proximity, monsters, and a magic system with a sense of humor.

You might love Unveiling if… you adore the humor of ASSISTANT TO THE VILLAIN, you want to live in any of Sarah Beth Durst’s worlds, and you love the monsters and forced proximity in SHIELD OF SPARROWS.

Welcome to a world with:
🍎 Sun-drenched apple orchards and the scent of turning seasons. And SHEEEEEP!
🖋️ Cozy graduate school academia aesthetics (with passive-agressive dorm rivalries).
⚔️ Brave Knights, who might still have scone crumbs on their armor.
🐈 Cats with too many opinions.
🦩New birds species that make you go “why doesn’t EARTH have that!?”
✨ And a sassy FMC with a perverted sense of humor.

Think LOW STAKES, HIGH FUN!

It’s silly, it’s whimsical, and I can’t wait to share it with you.

Happy JoyPit Pitching event to all participating! And hi! I’m Sam. Bird obsessed, goofy, and what most people would call a ray of sunshine.

Unveiling the woman behind the book (somewhat?).

I’m S.E. Pickle, and if I look like I’m hiding, it’s probably because I’m currently dodging a WhatsApp notification or one of my kiddos.

Writing a cozy romantasy-comedy like UNVEILING requires a specific kind of brain. Mine is composed of 10% bird facts, 50% “eldest daughter” syndrome, and 40% groan-worthy perverted humor. Between being a healthcare worker, a mom, and a full-time nail-biter, I find my magic in the messy margins of life.

A few things to know about me:
🕊️ I will definitely stop a conversation to identify a bird. Maybe that trait trickles down to my FMC.
🏥 Healthcare by day, enchanted settings by night.
✍️ My debut novel is fueled by a magic system with a sense of humor.

Follow along with me on this crazy journey!

Well hello, beautiful world.

I’m S.E. Pickle, and I spend far too many late nights weaving silly magic into cozy settings. My debut novel, UNVEILING, is a labor of love: part romantic yearning, part comedic chaos, and entirely fueled by coffee.

Consider this your formal invitation to my little corner of the woods. Here, the libraries are infinite, the dance floors are bopping, and the romances are... well, a bit complicated. But delicious, nonetheless.🌶️🌙🌊

What to expect in this space:
✨ Real-time writing updates (and the occasional crisis).
✨ Character aesthetics to feed your soul.
✨ Snippets from the world of UNVEILING.
✨ Endless cozy fantasy vibes.
✨ Maaaaaybe some pictures of the world’s monsters!
✨ Current reads and reviews.

I’m so glad you’re here! Now spill: what was the last book that made you feel completely at home? 👇
—> I was completely immersed in the revolutionary world building of A FORBIDDEN ALCHEMY by Stacey McEwan @staceymcewanbooks Hmm…what does that say about me? (I just want to sit in a pub with Patrick and his cronies, puhleeease!)

This was such a fun creative outlet! My chapter may be a weird one, from an unusual perspective. Hints in my pics above 🥴🤭.

Some ✨magic✨ would be nice.

But if I could choose what type?! Yeah, give me that Christmas Magic please! 🎄🎅

Ready for the holidays? Go grab @mjperkinsbooks Santa’s Lawyer and get cozy!

This little book packs a punch in the perfect amount of pages for a charming, Christmas-y novella! Romance, grief, holiday lore, pop culture references, legal comedy, it has it ALL!

Have you heard that flying sparks creativity?

No notifications. No errands. No one asking, “What’s for dinner?” (The most offensive question if there ever was one!!!)

Just you + your thoughts + several hours in the sky.
The physical distance from your everyday life can give your brain a fresh perspective.

So my darling fellow authors…
maybe your next plot twist is waiting at 30,000 feet. Book that flight!
