ANNOUNCING THE MOVIE ADAPTATION of #assickasoursecrets by @authorabwhelan
.
Two months ago I signed with a movie producer to bring my 2nd thriller to the screen. The movie script is freaking AMAZING. I can't wait to watch the movie with all of you, and though it will take approximately two years, the anticipation is real. It's a dream come true. 🤩

Parent weekend at UC Berkeley. I love this kid to pieces. Despite the recent controversy, frat houses are great. Danny has some amazing brothers and I was fortunate to meet them. The future is looking bright. ♥️ taken in UC Berkeley Campus by @authorabwhelan

🏃‍♀️📖 Book Review: Woman Missing, by @authorabwhelan

🌟 Rating: 8.5 / 10

🔪Genre: Thriller

🗓 Pub Date: June 2, 2026

🩷 Thank you to the author for providing me with a copy of Woman Missing. Here are my thoughts!

Susan is having a challenging time. She wants to divorce her husband after cheating suspicions have crept up and her grown children are out of the house. She goes on a weekend getaway with her best friends, and the freedom feels amazing. Meanwhile, Ethan is working on the island to try to support his wife and children. He works two jobs, and long hours and he feels stir crazy. He’s mostly controlling his impulses but he’ starting to lose it. These two lives will intertwine in a terrifying way.

I love a thriller, but Woman Missing isn’t just any thriller. I loved the two modes of the book. Firstly, we see this relaxed woman trying to take control of her life again. Finally feeling like she’s in a good place. It feels like a relaxing vacation with friends, of course there is drama but overall, it’s a great summer vibe.

Then we shift to Ethan whose chapters were chilling. I was so uncomfortable reading most of his chapters mostly because he felt like a real person. Someone who is lurking behind a caricature with some terrible thoughts. It was incredibly eerie. But the juxtaposition of the two characters made each shine that much more, whether it be in a positive or negative light.

We hit a clear turning point in the book, and it freezes your blood. The mood dampens and suddenly as a reader, you just want justice because it is just so frustrating and upsetting. It was written with such a smart setup and structure. I wish more thrillers would try something new, because A.B. Whelan has certainly nailed this one.

The biggest flex is when you find a book you wrote read ragged at a family member's home. 🔥😁

I'm sure most authors and Influencers will find that getting support from strangers is easier than from family and friends. So whenever a family member tells me how much she loves my books, I feel very touched and honored. ❤️

The 2026 independent horror sci-fi thriller Parasites was co-directed, co-written, and produced by indie filmmaker A.B. Whelan (Andrea Bizderi Whelan) alongside Sonise Lumbaca.

🔆🔆🔆

This story follows the Johnson and Smith families on a dream vacation in Crete. Their trip quickly devolves into a nightmare after an alien parasite crashes into the area, infecting the locals and turning them into violent creatures.

Moving back to California. 🙌 Said our last goodbyes to our amazing friends on Crete. ❤️🥺
Being overseas for 2.5 years killed my writing career but it jumpstarted my filmmaking career. We never know where life takes us but at least we can say we make the most of every situation. 🙌😁
