A little about me?
I went to college at Western Oregon University 🐺 where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree 📜 in English & Writing with a focus on Creative Writing.
All through my education I was involved in writing clubs and have been writing freely since I knew how to hold a pencil✏️

My entire life I have been an avid fantasy reader and writer, choosing to jump through the portal in pages than knowing how to live in everyday life. From short stories to fan fictions, to writing novels just to keep them on a folder of old computers, I have finally decided to commit to achieving a childhood dream of writing a book series and being a published author!

I’m extremely blessed to have friends, family, and acquaintances cheer me on and beg to read anything I’ve written. Unfortunately for them, I’ve never given them a SCRAP!

Until now. Whether I become traditionally published or build it from scratch, my biggest dream has always been to have my art, my world, and my soul formed in the shape of a novel. It’s never been about the money (though that’d be nice), it’s never been about the fame, but it’s always been about my art and maybe - just maybe - connecting to someone like me. Someone that needed a world and people and magic to escape to when life was a little too hard.

Here’s to that younger version of myself and to you, the future reader. May you find rebirth in my story.

A big lesson learned.

It was terrifying submitting my work and getting professional feedback. But how else am I supposed to have a perfected book if I don’t get it. It was insightful and a little predictable.

I had been staring at my first chapter so much, rethinking where it should have gone instead, how it should start or if I really felt like it was good enough. Jokes on me, it wasn’t good enough, and I knew that deep down.

So I’m super grateful for the feedback, and honestly, it was such a minor critique because everything else was really great. It wasn’t even about terrible writing or punctuation, not even about the information. I just needed to start off with a run because I was only at a walk.

So I changed chapter 1 and started with a sprint.

At the end of the day, I’m just a girl.

I don’t have it all figured out. I don’t have perfect spelling or plans. Things work out, others don’t. I get stuck on the same chapter - or word - cause it doesn’t seem quite right. It ain’t all fun and games and cute crashouts.

✨Speaking my truth✨ but honestly, I have only ever written and tucked my work away than any of these other steps. I will say, I have a newfound respect for editing since that’s the current place I’m at.

I am still getting settled into my new place, still getting back into a routine and resetting my mind and body. But this break has been nice, and I think it’ll be good to get back into the swing of things.
