I have the honor of calling Katie a friend (hi @kaitlynabdou ) and believe me when I say, friend or not, I'm VERY reserved about what books I buy currently. This one?

It's wonderful.

Katie is excellent at blending both characters, dialog, and world building. Something that I personally th8nk is getting harder and harder to find in books these days.

If you want a good summer read that immerses you, I highly recommend this book!

SPOOKY SEASON ISN'T OVER! The leaves are still turning color, the veil is still thin, and the weather is slowly turning colder. My sweaters and tea are ready and so are these books!

I've been slowly reading the Never Whistle At Midnight anthology and had to stop reading it at night because someone of it was tooooo reminiscent of experiences I've had. There's some WONDERRUL writers in it and I highly recommend it!

One of my favorite stories was the first one, Kushtuka by @mathildazellerauthor! I can't wait find her books if she's written any!

It brought me right back to some of my favorite scary stories I read (probably a little too young) as a kid.

To counteract the spookies and segway into some cozy slice of life that takes place at funeral.

Because if you can't find love at funeral home where can you? (Look, I'm not ready for a ouija board long distance romance right now k?).

LET'S TALK ABOUT WELL LOVED BOOKS!

I've had this book since literally high-school! Stephanie Laurens books (especially her first Cynster books) are ones I've read a million times over. It's a world I love revisiting because I adore the characters, plots, and her writing.

The book cover is worn and a little torn from trips to beaches, movies, restaurants, and camping trips. I have a lot of books that are a bit worn (this book is a little too loved, lol!) but it's because I only keep books that I want to read over and over on my shelf.

Yup. I'm an unashamed re-reader!

To me, books that are as clean and sharp as they day you got them have a lonely feeling. Give me a slightly worn book any day!

I love new books, but honestly old books tend to be what I love the most. These two books I got in an adorable antique shop called Smoking Monkey, in Bury St. Edmunds, in England this spring.

One is a collection of letters to between two friends (an elderly gentleman and a much younger woman, who in fact, really were just friends) from the late 1800s and the other a diary of a witty local vicar in the mid 1800s.

Alas in the forward made by vicar's family, they said they left out anything about his personal life which like...THAT'S THE IMPORTANT PART THOUGH!?

Anyway, I love old books and diaries of bygone people and seeing glimpses of what life was like. It's like reading new books and they often inspire my writing.
