🌹 Death has wanted to kill her for a thousand years. But now? He wants to keep her alive for a reason other than his own. 🖤💫
✨✨✨
For once, Death doesn’t have a plan. And that idea alone was terrifying. 🥀

❣️Death’s heart thrums in Aethne Lovelorn’s chest.
Built as her father’s priceless machine, the parts of Aethne that bore human always broke. Sometimes, it was at the dinner table drinking poison. Other days, it was kneeling in the garden and cropping up the bodies of the stewards that keep dropping dead. 💀

🍃 But when a boy her age comes to Lovelorn estate one rainy night and claims to be a family friend and soldier in need of shelter, she befriends him and gives him a name: Renwick.

💫 However, when Aethne discovers the truth behind his rather unusual long term stay, she can no longer say for certain that the heart in her chest belongs to her. He took it with him when he left, and now she serves in the darkest gutters of the war in hopes to see him again.

Because even Death needed a heart to survive.🫀

This lovely commission is brought unto you by the lovely @sullyshi_ , who has breathed life into not just INSANICA, but Aethne and Renwick. It has been an honor working with them, and if you need an animation I HIGHLY suggest checking them out! ✨

Caught in a rather deadly romance, I’d say… 🖤🫣

She can sense him. She can’t see him. It doesn’t mean she can’t feel him. Because his heart beats bloody in her chest, and as long as she has it? She can’t die. 🫀🖤✨

Grief is a fickle creature I knew all too well in 2022🪽💫

Four years ago, my grandma had rang the cancer free bell. On February 18th of 2022, my life was flipped upside down when the woman that introduced me to writing had been cruelly taken from me in a way that carved up my soul. It was the puncture of a medical device that stripped her from us. I was angry for so long, knowing it wasn’t the cancer, or thinking maybe it was and she didn’t tell any of us for a reason. I lost myself searching for a reason that made sense. Two weeks prior, I lost my great grandma. I had no time to properly grieve both separately, so it came at once like a nasty tornado in my heart and head.

The bitter truth that will never taste sweet? Nothing will make sense. And it’s not supposed to. Death never makes sense, and it’s always unfair.

However, I don’t let that picture of her consume the room in my mind anymore. Now, I imagine us writing and telling silly gummy bear stories at 12am during Christmas and figuring out how to get rich off of story ideas (naivety runs in the blood).

I know they’re with me 🩷✨

Thank you to every single person who is willing to give me a shot at being an author of yours 🫶🥹

✨🖤 This vague book idea erupted through a dark walk in my life. It took me 5 years to make it a real thing. To serve it the justice it deserved after what felt like a lifelong battle. 🖤✨
💫 But my soul is no longer tired. It’s new, and I have hatched a whole new self to get to this point of story telling I never knew possible. ❣️

But when a runaway soldier her age comes to Lovelorn estate one rainy night on the brink of Death, she befriends him and gives him a name: Renwick. 💜

🌱🍓 “Truth be told, Death was a friend—my friend. It was when he became a lover that I realized he was dangerous.” 🖤✨

Animation: sullyshi_

When Aethne Lovelorn houses a runaway soldier with no name, she has no choice but to befriend him as he follows her around like a shadow with nothing better to do. When he is appointed as her guard when they get older and her feelings flower, she starts to see changes in him. He’s angrier. Loathsome, even. And he disappears for nights on end only to return with a bleak war in his eyes.

It was when he raised a blade to her chest that night she kissed him, that she had finally understood—Death was after her heart the entire time.

But he already had it. 🩸

🖤✨💚 Not dressed up as an author today, so that’s spooky. If Draco Malfoy had a sister, what would her name be…? 💚✨🖤

✨The Aviarch & The Songbird🪽

“She could feel him inside of her head. He didn’t need to speak for her to understand him.”

✨✨✨
He’s a mute prince who hasn’t uttered a word since taking the life of his sister. Now, he tends to wounded birds in his castle and orders armies. 🗡️
✨✨✨
She’s a girl who is hired to kill the prince in order to banish her slow-killing curse. But when a witch turns her into a songbird as bait, she ends up trapped in his castle. 🏰

🧡✨💫 Let’s have a little TED Talk about chronic illness! 💫✨🧡

❣️Over the course of my 20s so far, I have been working hard on myself in any way, shape, or form I can. It all slammed into me at once after I dealt with multiple deaths in a row, and I realized it wasn’t normal of my body to react in such a manner consistently a whole year later.

Some days, I can pump out 3 chapters. Other days? I have to put down the laptop for a week. Do I like doing it? Absolutely not. But I can promise you my work won’t be that great. No one can think straight when they’re sick! 🤧

☀️ On top of neurodivergence and layering another form of debilitation, my days are always a gamble. 🌸 I’ve learned to accept it. Learned to embrace it. Learned to speak it into existence, because it isn’t going anywhere. 🌺

Florida will forever be home to me. I’ve never left it. 🌺🧡🏝️
Home grown in Sarasota, rooted in Washington State, and skipping over to San Diego next year 💫✨
