POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Thank you to everyone who has started following me. It’s been a bit since I introduced myself. My name is J. Raytick. I recently started querying my debut fantasy The Sins of The Guardian. I also just finished writing the first draft of another fantasy novel that’s in the same world as my first. Currently, I’m writing a rom com that I’m super excited about.

Some things you should know about me: I write no spice, no foul language. I don’t glorify evil or toxic relationships. I am a sucker for healthy, sweet love stories where the characters respect and care deeply for each other. I also really love strong friendships.

Meet The Sins of The Guardian

This was such an incredible story for me to write. I poured my heart into bringing the characters to life, by using my background in healthcare to make them flawed yet resilient, complex yet relatable. I typed every word of my novel on my phone in between toddler naps and sitting in carpool lines.

The Sins of The Guardian is a spice free, character driven, high stakes fantasy with Christian undertones. Set in a world that sin left untouched, it follows Evelyn, the Guardian’s apprentice, whose past haunts her. After a moment of weakness, she will have to decide if the cost of others’ lives are worth her own.

It will have you questioning what you would do when tempted by the things you hold most dear, and the sacrifices you would be willing to make for those you love most.

You can expect:
👥Forced proximity
💪Strong FMC
🤱🏼Found family
📆Historical retelling
💔Forbidden love
🏇Race for a cure
📜Prophesy
🐍Good vs evil
🦄Fantastical creatures
🤫Hidden truths
🪾Forbidden fruit
🗡️Magical artifact

And so much more.

Beta readers loved The Sins of The Guardian, and I’m confident you will too!

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Warm regards,
Jessica Raytick

I’ve been pantsing my way through my current WIP. Which isn’t me at all. But thought I’d try.

Last night, in my sleep I mapped out the entire rest of my manuscript and it was amazing. Or at least it would have been had I written it all down. I woke up this morning super excited about my WIP. But then, I realized… I forgot everything I dreamed about for it. 😭😭😭

Why didn’t I wake up and write it down in the middle of the night?

Anyways, guess I’ll be brainstorming all day until my writing session this afternoon trying to remember the plot I dreamed up. It was fun and perfect *chefs kiss*. Oh well…

Always thinking, plotting or dreaming of my next scene or story idea. Have already tucked away some new ideas for when I finish my current WIP. In between writing sessions is just brainstorming time 😅
