DARK D [COMING SOON]

The opening line. The prologue. The setting of the scene that will set thr tone for everything that follows.

A story that has lived within me for years, quietly brewing, evolving into something so deeply personal and so close to my heart.

Is it dark? Is it gloomy? Can you hear the thunder permeating the air?

This exact scene is the reason I began the writing the story.

Every road, every chapter, every twist eventually leads back to this very moment. To these very characters. To the beginning of something that was destined to end in catastrophe.

And it's catastrophic.

Who would've though, a visual image, a song & my love for a certain trope would build a world so devastatingly beautiful.

🧛🏽‍♀️FACELESS PORTRAIT🧛🏽‍♀️

Turned a year older, hopeful that I’ve grown a little wiser. Am I? Possibly not. But I have an anchor that’s currently keeping me grounded and for now that’s all that I’m asking for as I blow out the candles this year. It’s always interesting that as a writer, I’m often at loss for words when it comes to describing myself. What exactly do I say? But maybe figuring it out IS the point.

Initially, when I joined, it was with the intention of wanting my words to bleed on paper. Then I accidentally discovered Bookstagram, the best mistake ever! I’ve made incredible friends, having the privilege to witness their art and finding a community that can give me more than I can ask for. I appreciate you all🖤

It’s been a difficult year battling everything that came my way and at one point wanting to succumb. But I took a leap of faith. And here I am, finally talking about MY books. That is my biggest achievement, not just storytelling but believing myself enough to see it through. For once, I chose to believe my words are worth something🖤

For as long as I am here, let’s have a fantastic time together🖤🖤

*taps mic* Reporting live from the writing cave 🎙️

Nothing polished. Nothing finished. Just fragments, feelings and a work in progress I’m slowly carving into existence.

I’m a pantser, so my writing process is following whichever project is yelling the loudest in my head. Swipe for a peek. The quotes are subject to change.

WRITING UPDATES:
(Project #1) I’m currently working on Book One of The Dark D series. And yes, this will officially be my debut novel. The finer details are still fighting for their lives in my head and I’m terrible at naming tropes but I can confirm that it’s a dark mafia romance. It has heavy world-building, a lot of plot (I cannot stress this enough), a lot of intimacy and very likely some spice.

I’m consumed by this project. It’s been with me for so long that I now have to actively push it forward, it’s taken over my thoughts. I’m obsessed with the world, the couples and mainly, the plot. Imposter syndrome makes me doubt the ‘crazies’ in my head but I still want to share this.

(Project #2) Aside from that, I’m also in the early stages of working on a dark academia romance standalone. I’m not entirely sure how to talk about it without giving too much away but it’s extremely symbolic to me. When I can share more, it’ll make much more sense.

The couple, though…they’re wild, enigmatic creatures—something almost mythic in the way they move around each other *hint, hint*.

(Project #3) I’m also in the early stages of writing a psychological thriller romance. This is, in some sense, a symbol of my love for dystopian literature. I’m still terrible with tropes but this one is deeply personal to me. It is intended to be a standalone, though it could potentially turn into a duet.

I will mostly be offline, as I have been for a while, as I plummet back into the writing cave. I’ll still pop online occasionally, so be prepared for the randomness. Sending everyone my crazy love.

S [COMING SOON]

Am I the only one that reads my storytelling, battles imposter syndrome, and then is completely obsessed with finding out what happens next?

Only to realize...the rest isn’t written yet.

Yeah. That pretty much sums up my chaotic writing process.

I mostly hate that I write slowly but at the same time, I’m glad I do. I know I wouldn’t be satisfied with a rushed story. So, of course, I have to edge and torture myself in the process. Such a me thing *rolls eyes*

I write multiple books at once because it keeps my creativity flowing and stops me from getting bored. The dark academia project I’ve briefly mentioned is my love letter to everything gothic.

And this standalone? It’s a story of power play, murder mystery, and most importantly…obsession.

Because apparently, I can’t just write a normal book.

This post centers the FMC because you’ll either love her or hate her, and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

She’s easily my most polarizing character. She’ll frustrate you, intrigue you and probably make you question whether you should be rooting for her at all.

And if it’s not already obvious…

I write powerful fucking women. In. Every. Font.

I have the utmost respect for authors that tease their storytelling and keep it a secret because I'm five seconds away from exposing the plot *runs away*

As a pantser, my writing process suffers. Yes, I am pure chaos, there’s no other way to describe it. But what it does means is that I get to re-read my story & before imposter syndrome takes over, I realise the words I write aren’t so bad.

A writing vibes playlist by SAREI :)

If an autobiography were to be written on me, it would be called “I’m writing”. That’s all the solid information I have especially when I’m trying not spoil anything.

I cannot confirm nor deny if these will be the songs that make it into the final playlist but everything in the next slide is what I feel would describe the vibes of my debut series best.

I don’t talk a lot about the DARK [REDACTED] series but this is my passion project, it’s a combination of my love for literature but an escape too. The characters are raw, very much real to me and unique in their own ways. But they’re my babies, what started off as a simple idea brewed into a much greater plot.

A possible subject to change quote from my book:
"We are engineering the ultimate weapon, a fragile heart is just disposable fuel."

PS: Although its cryptic, it'll make more sense later on, everything I say is intentional.
