Wap Shoo Wap 💥

Visited Amsterdam last Saturday and got me an Automatic Lovers 7-inch (I thought it was sold out 😅) and the latest release by The Etters, the last budget garagepunk band on earth! @automatic.lovers @wapshoowaprecords

@the.etters opened before @splitsystem666 in @skatecafeamsterdam and played 21 (!) songs in 30 minutes that day. Nicked The Etters’ setlist after their show (and congratulated singer/guitarist Jerry with his birthday).

Oh, the single-sided Etters 7-inch (Rip Off Records, remember?) is in the same vein: three songs in just two minutes, haha! Sung in Dutch and about ‘kicking your head in’, ‘trading pills’ and ‘a thrift-store clothing lifestyle’ 😎

Automatic Lovers - ‘Boston Babies’ b/w ‘Who cares if tomorrow comes’. Both songs (NY Dolls/Dead Boys kinda punkrock) are super and not present on their great ‘Automatic Lovers’ debut album. Also on @wapshoowaprecords (2026).

@uglypoprecords: this is the Dutch ‘Wap Shoo Wap’ label, named after the Ivy Green song.

TREMENDA JORNADA!!!

EL PUNKROCK ÉS DE JOVES!

EH, MERTXE! @eh_mertxe
Des de Euskal Herria ens arriba EH, MERTXE!, punk rock canalla, amb riffs contundents, lletres directes i actitut macarra. El seu darrer treball, publicat aquest 2026 és una barreja del millor powerpunkenergyrockandroll. OUUUUUMAMAAAAA!!!

AUTOMATIC LOVERS @automatic.lovers

Never mind the temperature….

… here are Automatic Lovers (they’re from Madrid) with their highly acclaimed debut album on the mighty cool, Amsterdam based @wapshoowaprecords label. It’s a co-releases with @folc_records .

@automatic.lovers play catchy, mid-tempo, ‘77-style punk rock & roll and, man, how I like the ripping guitar solos in each of the eleven ‘hits’.
Fans of The Heartbreakers, The Dead Boys, Wap Shoo Wap Records, Slaughter & The Dogs, Ivy Green 😉 and The Vibrators better check this out.

Lurking in the back, the second album by The Covids (@the.covids), which, I think, has some ‘early Superchunk’ influences. And that’s a compliment, don’t get me wrong! It’s on Wap Shoo Wap too and it’s great💥

Yank that volume knob clockwise and play loud.
Both of them!
