October is full of ways to connect, create, and collaborate! As we move into the harvest season there are so many reasons to celebrate! This year has brought an abundance of support for the gallery and it’s all because of this incredible community that continues to show up with abundance. I’m so proud of us all for the community that we continue to shape collectively. May we all get free together!

backdrop that longs for genuine peace—a rarity in the artist’s hometown.

In this show, Lara Aburamadan explores the transformation of memories of home shaped by the relentless impact of war, transitioning from tangible reality to the ethereal realms of daydreams and nostalgia. Having lived in exile for years, Aburamadan is left pondering the uncertain path ahead, questioning the fate of a Gaza that clings to memories of people and places that don’t exist anymore.

Autonomous Gallery is at a pivotal moment.

For the past year and a half, I’ve been building Autonomous Gallery into a grassroots creative hub rooted in liberation, healing, and collective care.

What started as a leap of faith has become a real gathering place for artists and community.
Now I’m asking for help to keep it alive.

I’ve launched a crowdfunding campaign to cover the essential costs of keeping the space open through the rest of the year — rent, utilities, insurance, and basic operations.

If this space has meant something to you, or if you believe places like this should exist, I invite you to support or share.

Remains a Memory is a still photo collection from Gaza City, encapsulating a place that holds stories of the land and the sea. Within the frames, serene moments unfold against a backdrop that longs for genuine peace—a rarity in the artist’s hometown.

In this show, Lara Aburamadan explores the transformation of memories of home shaped by the relentless impact of war, transitioning from tangible reality to the ethereal realms of daydreams and nostalgia. Having lived in exile for years, Aburamadan is left pondering the uncertain path ahead, questioning the fate of a Gaza that clings to memories of people and places that don’t exist anymore.

@laraaburamadan is a Palestinian visual artist, journalist and founder of Refugee Eye. Born
and raised in Gaza City, now based in the San Francisco Bay Area, she tends to embrace the
human perspective through visual storytelling. Her photographs and writings have been
published in Time Magazine, New York Times, VICE, The Atlantic, NPR, San Francisco Chronicle, The Progressive Magazine, AJ+, and elsewhere.

Lara has been chosen by Time Magazine among 34 women photojournalists around the world that you should follow.

DEAD END VOL. 2

What a blast last friday was, so much so that we literally killed the stage 🤘 A night of rage, raucous galloping jams, and just raw noise, we give thanks to everyone who came and supported not only their friends and favorite bands, but eachother.

MAD thank yous to @galvanize.live, @dissociation_official and @golden.virgo.healing for the performances of the evening. For our last time ( for the foreseeable future ) at this particular venue, we went out with a bang.

WE WILL BE BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER, AND WE CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU AT THE NEXT #DEADEND
