Mist in multiple layers / Ghosts of Pähkänä

It's easy to see why Pähkänänkallio is a favorite spot for landscape photographers. Even in suboptimal conditions the view keeps on giving. For these I used multiple exposures to gather different aspects into one, and re-edited the colours. I might not be finished yet with this topic...

Trying to catch impressions of our star's evening light around Mustarindan näköalatorni (Mustarinda viewing tower). A selection of my favorite phone edited jpegs.

Sunset series 17.10.2026

I saw a glimpse of light and went after it, not knowing what I'd find. It seems that gold and roses don't need rainbows after all. Such a beautiful evening... Enjoy! taken in Munkkiniemi, Helsinki by @autopticviews

Auroras at Riisitunturi National Park 11.10.2026

For some reason I didn't quite get enough of auroras and decided to go see whether Ikkunalampi ("window pond") could reflect the dancing lights from the waters surface. Unfortunately the pond was frozen and had a light snow cover, leaving me without reflections of the physical kind. Maybe some day... taken in Riisitunturi National Park by @autopticviews

Iso Huopalahti, Mätäjoki and the lands of Tali manor

Many of the old manors in Helsinki have been repurposed. The lands of Tali manor have become a golf course (the oldest in Finland, est. 1932), with the manor building serving as the club house. Part of the fields became the Tali allotment garden, est. 1936. The river Mätäjoki ("rotten river" 🙈) is now a protected area, with trout being reintroduced and the riverbed shaped to allow trout reproduction.

Peculiar mushrooms 🤔

It appears as though these are Craterellus tubaeformis mushrooms, but the colour is off. I wonder whether this is some kind of leukistic/albino variant? The normal ones were within 1 m of the variant group. Feel free to share insights if you have any. 🙏

'the ghost of Pähkänä'

While not visible to the naked eye, the spirit of Hannu Hautala made its presence clear...
