They say grief is like glitter, but these last 3 and a bit months I reckon grief feels more like wearing a backpack filled with bricks. Everyone notices when you first put the backpack on... then eventually it’s just a known part of your everyday wear... maybe not everyone knows what’s in your backpack or maybe they can’t even see it, but you’re dragging it to social events, work, the gym, the grocery shops... everywhere.
Some days my backpack feels really heavy and other days I feel strong and it feels a little lighter. I really wanted to finally share part of my eulogy honouring one of the most important men in my life, my cousin Heath. It’s an honour to wear this backpack for you, but I wish I didn’t have to wear it so soon 🤍🕊️ by @autumn_wicksteed

What a privilege it is, to have known and to love you for the last 10 years Matty. I’m usually good with my words, one to fill a card on both sides, but words fail me with this. Not a days gone by where you haven’t been on my mind and heart. You’d be so proud of your family and loved ones. I feel so blessed to have stood by your side for so many special moments with them and I promise I’ll forever continue to stand by their sides for you. Anyone that truly knows Adam knows he has a kink for paprika pringles… to the point where he’s even managed to become a V.I.Pringler (that’s another story 😂). You can only get the flavour in Europe so when the idea of us going together came up with two weeks notice… you can imagine why he said yes. He made sure he had at least one can in hand at all times (swipe for evidence) so I knew the only way to the man’s heart was going to be through a can of paprika pringles. I scribbled a note to him one afternoon whilst he was taking a shower and decided our Iceland trip with @rebeccacapener & James would be the perfect time to shove said note in a Pringle can. Fast forward to the 7th of September, we were visiting Skogafoss and the Blue Lagoons so Bec and I decided it was the perfect day for me to finally profess my love 😅. Adam instantly knew the can had been tampered with and milked eating the pringles for HOURS (unheard of) resulting in my heart falling out of my butt as I waited for him to read my note 🫠 (spot the can in hand once he’d finally read it 😂). I can’t remember everything I’d written on that note but I do remember signing it off with “let’s make this official, because I’m officially in love with you” with a yes or no tick box. To this day I don’t think he ever ticked his answer 😂 but as far as I’m aware it’s now been 4 years of us being official and I officially fall deeper in love with you every day 🧡. PS good luck ever proposing you’ve got big shoes to fill lol by @autumn_wicksteed
