3 out of 4 jobs in Africa depend directly on water.

This Africa Day, we focus on water as the true foundation for growing our industries and securing our economic future. Because water powers our workforce, supply disruptions do more than slow us down,they actively halt economic growth.

To fix this, the AU. is actively driving a continental shift from declarations of intent to tangible action through its newly launched Africa Water Vision 2063 and Policy.

The AU is addressing this by prioritizing:

1. Working directly with the African Development Bank and international financial partners to close the continent’s annual $30 billion water infrastructure investment gap.

2, Aligning water resource management with Agenda 2063 to unlock millions of decent green jobs specifically for women and youth entrepreneurs.

The Call to Action
We urge governments, private sector leaders, and development partners to align with the AU’s framework and translate these shared commitments into measurable, bankable investments. by @auyouthprogram

Honouring Pan-African Leadership

YCC 2.0 – Silencing the Guns Conference | Bujumbura, Burundi 📍

On Day 2 of the 5th Continental Youth Peace and Security & Women Peace and Security Dialogue in Bujumbura, I had the honour of presenting the Pan-Africanist Awards of Excellence to distinguished leaders whose work continues to advance youth inclusion, peacebuilding and the African peace and security agenda during the YCC2.0 side event.

I was also deeply honoured to receive the Pan-African Youth Leadership and Peacebuilding Excellence Award.

We further conferred Certificates of Appreciation on

Ms. Gloria Kabage, and others, in recognition of their invaluable support, guidance and contributions to the success of the YCC 2.0 – Silencing the Guns Conference, held on the sidelines of the 5th Continental Youth Peace and Security & Women Peace and Security Dialogue.

This was more than an awards moment. It was a recognition of leadership, partnership and the shared responsibility to build a peaceful Africa.
