This year, I had the privilege of returning to Cobán, Guatemala, to continue the incredible work of the amazing @lauripramuk and the rest of our medical team. Once again, there are not enough words, time, or space to fully express the gratitude I feel or the ways this experience has shaped me. But I will say this:

Thank you again for allowing me to be part of a community, a journey, and a purpose that continues to remind me of who I am and who I hope to become. When I left Guatemala last year, I carried home a few stickers, countless memories, and a heart forever changed by the people I met. This year, I returned with a year of growth behind me, a deeper understanding of myself, and a heart ready to listen, serve, and continue learning. Now, as I leave again, I carry even more with me: the stories of my patients, the laughter of children, the love and dedication of my team, and the unwavering hope that fills every corner of La Ciudad de la Esperanza. I came here hoping to give my time, knowledge, and care to others, yet once again, I am leaving just as changed by the people who so generously shared their lives with me. It can feel selfish to reflect on how much this journey has brought into my own life when I came here with the intention of serving others. Still, I have learned to trust that being changed by this experience is part of its purpose. I hope that the love, perspective, and compassion I have received here will continue to shape the person I become and, in turn, allow me to offer even more of that same love and support to others.

Guatemala, I will carry your lessons, your love, and your spirit with me always. I promise to honor what you have taught me, to keep fighting for meaningful change, and to return with more knowledge to share, more hope to give, and an even greater capacity to care.
