POSTS STORIES REELS

Today I say goodbye to a piece of my heart and Ava’s biggest fan. She never got the chance to meet most of you who follow me here, but you definitely know her work.

When I told my baby boomer hyper traditional minded Greek immigrant mother that I wanted to become a drag queen I was prepared for the fight of the century. But instead she simply thought for a second and said “that sounds very cool!” She became not only my biggest cheerleader but she even dusted off her old sewing skills to make sure I always had outfits when I needed them. If you scroll down my feed many of my custom looks are by her hand.

She had her fears and our creative collaborations weren’t always smooth (we fired each other a record six times), but she could never fight her true love which was seeing me perform. The second picture is one she “accidentally” snapped of herself the last time she was able to make it to a show of mine in 2024. When I stumbled upon it I was overjoyed to be reminded that I got to sing for her one last time, and that smile is something I’ll hold close forever.

It feels like I have no one to sing for anymore, but I’m sure that when I do she’ll be singing along with me wherever she is (off key no shade)

I knew immediately, of course, that this was none other than The Grand High Witch herself. I knew also why she had worn a mask. She could never have moved around in public, let alone book in at a hotel, with her real face. Everyone who saw her would have run away screaming

In fairy-tales, witches always wear silly black hats and black cloaks, and they ride on broomsticks. But this is not a fairy-tale. This is about REAL WITCHES.

Listen very carefully. Never forget what is coming next…

As far as children are concerned, a REAL WITCH is easily the most dangerous of all the living creatures on earth. What makes her doubly dangerous is the fact that she doesn’t look dangerous…
