From a vision of getting all people, all ages and all bodies moving in my new town to bringing it back home to Welly

And getting to move alongside exactly that. Different ages, different bodies, different fitness levels and different walks of life but all showing up with the same mindset. To do something for yourself, connect with the people around you and spread a little love along the way.

D6 has always been about more than just movement.

Looking after our hauora and mental health can be as simple as getting outside, moving your body, having a kōrero with someone new or just being around people. Sometimes showing up is enough.

And seeing so many people actually show up for this kaupapa in Welly meant more than I can really put into words.

My people who have backed me and this vision from the beginning, the businesses and people who put their hands up to support the day, everyone who helped behind the scenes and every single person who came down and moved with us.

It takes people backing people to build something like this and I definitely didn’t do it alone.

It doesn’t matter how fast you are, how far you go or what movement looks like for you. Walk, run, bike, skate, bring the kids, bring your mates or come alone. Just show up as you are.

Seeing something that started as a little vision come to life in Tauranga Moana and now back in my hometown is something I’ll hold pretty close.

Keep moving, keep connecting and keep showing up for yourself and for each other. D6 community, this is only the beginning.
