One bedroom, two baths, eat-in chicken 🍗💊🧸🌼

Daisy has been on my costume spreadsheet for a few years now, and I was a little hesitant because she is such a tragic figure, but I also know how deeply of a beloved character she is. I think a lot of us can relate to her in many different ways.

Thank you to @hidden_julles for helping me recreate Daisy’s sweater, and major thanks to @travishaight for taking these cinematic finger lickin’ chicken shots, despite being veg 😂

RIP BRITTANY MURPHY 💚

There's always someone younger and hungrier coming down the stairs after you 👯‍♀️🖕💋🧊🧊🐾🍛

This year’s costume was a tribute to my favorite movie of all time; Showgirls. I always loved Cristal way more than Nomi, and thought it would be funny to add the hip brace to her most glamorous look in the movie. Thank you @ginagershon for being one of the most iconic characters ever, and helping countless preteen girls awaken the questioning of their sexuality with this movie 🔥👀

I took last year off from Halloween to focus on burlesque, but can’t wait to shoot a new cult classic character with @travishaight in a few days!!!

Here are the two costumes of mine he’s shot before:
She Freak (1967)
Daisy Randone - Girl Interrupted (1999)

This year’s choice is from a late 80s movie that has been adapted several times, and people regularly dress as this character, but wait til yall see my take 😏 by @avalonmonet

Less than three weeks til you can see my vulturesque act again! 10/29 at @sycamoreden for BODY LANGUAGE by @gingernwhiskey 🩸✨🥀

No cover, but tips encouraged! We will be raising funds for a mutual aid organization TBA!

After I finish this year’s Halloween character shoot, I promise I’ll finally start working on a new act that hopefully won’t take another two years. Then ya’ll won’t have to see this bird bitch on your timeline as often. taken in San Diego, California by @avalonmonet

I’m very sad (and slightly ashamed) to say goodbye to our babygirl Bushka. I thought she was doing better, but things declined so fast and we couldn’t bear to see her in pain anymore.

When Monty disappeared in January 2016, my family had a chihuahua sized hole in our hearts waiting for the right baby to come along. My mom and I went to the OC pound to visit a different dog, but I fell in love with our girl, originally named Doris.

When my mom went to pick her up at the pound, she bit the handler, so it was a whole process signing a waiver to even adopt her once she had been deemed a biter. This bitch was grumpy, but her sour was also the sweetest.

We took a week to decide her name. Bushka short for Babushka felt appropriate. My mom is a Kate Bush fan and opted to spell it Booshka, but it was interchangeable.

Even as a puppy, she seemed like an old lady. Very quickly over the first year, she evolved from a silky smooth black velvet booty to a wiry terrier coat with a full on white handlebar mustache. Thomas always said she was a javelina with catfish style barbels to root around in the dirt.

Bushka specifically loved men (rare trait for a dog) and would desperately skidaddle quickly over to a man’s feet to roll on her back for belly scratches. Her lemon print dress was extremely polarizing amongst genders; Women hated it, and men seemed to think it was the cutest thing ever.

She was a pain in the ass too. Always sneaking into the chicken coop to eat grain, or intentionally shitting behind a door when it was cold out. My favorite annoying habit of hers was her insistence to crawl her way up onto the shoulders of whoever is driving her in the car. I don’t mess around with dog safety, so she got the seatbelt with me, but I’m really glad that the last time I took her to the desert to see my dad, I released the beast and let her ride on my shoulders for the final half mile on the dirt road.

I will miss this little old lady forever. She was the last dog my family adopted while my parents were still together. It almost feels like losing a sibling when the family dog has to leave us. Mom’s house is a little quieter. by @avalonmonet

Still taking a moment to breathe while I decide how I want to move forward with this glamorous and expensive side-quest, but I will be back on stage eventually.

I figured in the meantime, I should get some studio shots of the 35,000+ rhinestones I slowly glued over the course two years. The caruncles were my favorite part 🦃❤️‍🔥🦅 by @avalonmonet

@thehiddentiki does it again. I can’t wait to show you the bar, it’s incredible! @avalonmonet wears a groovy jumpsuit with a delicious tiki cocktail atop the bar for our upcoming art piece for @tikioasis and it’s going to move fast. 1/1, I recommend going early to the show! It will be printed on gorgeous archive quality photo paper and locked into a hand carved wooden tiki frame by the best @joebobhenrybob 🫶🏽 photos by me #tikioasis #tikibar #hometikibar taken in San Diego, California by @avalonmonet
