Walk-in robe concept.

Designed to feel calm, considered and effortless to use, the space combines tailored storage with a soft coastal palette of white joinery, warm oak, beige carpet and subtle brass details.

An arched vanity, dedicated his and hers storage, full-length hanging and a glass-topped jewellery drawer bring beauty and function together, while integrated lighting adds warmth throughout.

A refined retreat designed around the rituals of everyday life.

Project Coastal Light, taking shape.

A look at the process behind the design, from material selections and spatial planning to joinery drawings and visualisation.

Light timber, soft whites and textured stone establish a warm, coastal palette. In the walk-in robe, considered storage, an integrated vanity and gentle lighting bring those selections into the everyday.

Each stage helps our clients see how the details will come together, well before installation begins.

We visited YDL Stone last week as part of our stone selection process for our latest project.

We’re drawn to the details that give stone its character. The movement of a vein, a warm undertone, the subtle texture of a honed surface.

Each selection is considered alongside the surrounding timber, plaster and textiles, with equal attention to how it will be used and cared for. Seeing these materials together, in the light they will live in, is an essential part of our process.

Sometimes a single slab becomes the starting point for the entire palette. Its colours find their way into the joinery, upholstery and smaller details, creating a connection that carries throughout the home.

Living study.

A warm, tonal interior exploring the relationship between sculptural form and natural texture. Chocolate upholstery and oak bring depth, balanced by pale stone and softly filtered light.

Burgundy accents carry through the artwork, lighting and objects, connecting the smaller details within a restrained palette.

First light on the Gold Coast.

Deep olive water, gold on the surface and a few quiet minutes to take it in. The colours and textures I’m drawn to in the studio so often begin here. by @avalynhouse
