@pocketbookhudson opened earlier this month. A 46-key hotel in a historic, former pocketbook factory built in 1883. In 70,000 square feet you can find everything you’ve ever dreamed of. Rooms dripping in
maple, steel, chrome, and tempered glass. Bathrobes by @eckhaus_latta. Lamps and mirrors by @mishakahn. Live fire cooking at Ambos, the Argentine inspired restaurant.

There’s a nightclub — Ether — which opens tonight. Speakers by @a.for.ara, lighting by @nitemind. @teddpatterson plays tonight. @thebunkerny takes over on December 12. @etherhudson

There’s also three floors of retail and gallery spaces. That includes @showroom.hudson, your new design destination—a multidisciplinary 6,000 sq ft retail gallery. And also @kasuri_ny, where you can find a curated selection of labels like Comme des Garçons, Yohji Yamamoto, Y-3, Issey Miyake.

Oh, and after a night of dancing, there’s a bathhouse and spa (opening in early 2026). 🤯

Sunday night, East Village, 1993 — I’m at Café Tabac, the “birthplace of lesbian chic”. The French bistro where Kate Moss, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, and Naomi Campbell regularly hung out, dined, and partied.

And on Sundays, the city’s chicest lesbian and queer community took over — models, it-girls, fashion icons, creatives, activists…Madonna, stylists Patricia Field & @rebeccaweinbergstyle, Jenny Shimizu, nightlife pioneer @wandanyc and icons @kazziechameleon , @angelashore_ , and @pierralortie. DJ Sharee Nash played Euro acid jazz and neo-soul while dinner turned into cocktails, then into dancing, dessert, flirting...

Last weekend I was blessed by the fashionable & fabulous spirit of Sundays at Café Tabac (@cafetabacfilm) while making a very tiny acting debut in the documentary feature film. This story is so important — a reminder that queer nightlife is also visibility, community, resistance, empowerment, activism, and its impact lasts long after a night ends.
