North Palisade via LeConte Route

1 day ascent. 14,248ft (4343m). Over 5,544ft of elevation gain.

I had an itch to attempt to bag Starlight right after North Palisade, all in the same day but the weather window wasn’t looking good for the attempt so we set on to summit North Pal and man what a f*cking experience it was!

Having already summited MT Sill the views from North Palisade hit different. Being up there felt nostalgic, seeing Sill from a different angle on a neighboring peak was a feeling that’s hard to describe. 11/10.

Doing over 2mi of boulder hopping one way just to reach the chute followed by a nasty hike through scree before even climbing any anything was pretty brutal for this being the “easiest” route to the summit 🥲

Cold wind gusts and 28° temperatures only added to the adventure. The goal was to get off the mountain before the rain and snow rolled in and we pulled it off. Bagged North Pal, made it down safely, went to lone pine to grab some pizza and called it a day. 🤝🍕

Congrats to my boy @mandoxsilva for bagging his 6th 4000m peak! 👏🏔️

Happy to share this summit experience w some good friends 🤘

Super stoked to get this one checked off the bucket list! Making it 7/7 successful 14er summit attempts! 🏔️

I will be back for Starlight! 😈 LFG!

MT Williamson via Mount Williamson Trail

1 day ascent. No sleep. 30.7mi. Over 10,804ft in vertical gain. 14,379ft (4382m) — 2nd tallest peak in California and without a doubt the most physically demanding 14er in the state.

It was a privilege to share this experience with @mandoxsilva and @r_transplant2 – including the suffering haha. This beast felt like it was never ending.

Somewhere around the 10mi I pulled my right calf, which made the remaining 20+ miles even more interesting haha

It pushed us to our limits but we all went on to bag the summit. I describe it as a little amusement park for those who like torturing their bodies (worth it hehe). It had a little bit of the past 14ers I’ve done all in one: Sill, Russell, Middle Palisade, Langley 😂

Super stoked to have finally checked this 14er off the bucket list! Making it my 6th 14er summit.

6/6 successful 14er summit attempts this year. 3 this month. LFG!

Middle Palisade via South Fork Big Pine Creek Trail

1 day ascent. 14,018 ft (4,272 m). 14.3 mi round trip. 6,558 ft elevation gain.

This peak has been on my bucket list ever since I saw someone summit it here a few months ago. It looked so much fun! But at the time, I wasn’t ready for it lol

I trained and upped my climbing skills on smaller peaks, eventually working my way and summiting some other spicy 14ers. Somewhere along the way, I stopped prioritizing this peak - until a sponty invite from my friend @mandoxsilva brought it back onto my radar.

I was in. No hesitation.

I’m so stoked to finally check this one off the bucket list. Making it my 5th 14er summit this year! LFG!! 🤘🏔️ taken in Middle Palisade by @avanlopezz

Mt Sill via North Couloir

Solo ascent. 19.2mi. 14,154ft (4,314m). 6,562ft elevation gain. One Day.

This summit did something to my brain that i’m still trying to understand.

There’s a different kind of flow state i find in the mountains. Hours of moving through silence, completely locked in. No service. No noise. No distractions. Just effort, focus and mother earth.

All the chaos in my head disappears. Every step has a purpose. The training, the suffering, the uncertainty, the silence - it all forces me to be completely present.

The mountains don’t care who you are, what you own, etc... Out there, none of it matters. There’s just you, the mountain and the task in front of you.

The summit is only part of it. The real goal is to make it back down safely, carrying the experience with you and i’ve had the privilege of doing it once again.

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to fully explain what i find up there. I just know i keep finding pieces of myself in places where there’s nothing else.

So why not experience this in this life?

Oh and you also get rewarded with killers views too! 🏔️ taken in Mount Sill by @avanlopezz
