To know Rod is to Love Rod.

Rod has been more than a best friend to me; he’s been my brother for longer than I can remember him being a friend.
He was my neighbor, who became my brother, and the big uncle to my kids.

Having AJ as a single parent, Rod was a pivotal piece to my life; a lot of times the second voice of reason and way for AJ and I. For years you wouldn’t see me out without Big Rod by my side. We cherished our brotherhood and had so much fun working together and doing life together. When he met the love of his life, she joined the party bus with us and kept the bus rolling @deejayford5.
While their house was being built I had the privilege of the Fords living with me. I will forever cherish those memories. The outdoor dinners, the dance parties on the countertops with Tre, watching Rod deliver our puppies, the ab workout laughs.. so many memories I will never forget.

More than anything I will not forget the brother he was to me. Both losing our mothers in a year span, we bonded deeply and cried many tears together. We helped each other through it all and I know these last three years he’s prepared me for this transition to help with his family.

Rod’s favorite duties in this world were being a husband and father. He loved his family more than anything. Tre and miles were his proudest accomplishments. They were his best friends, sport loving buddies, and the joy that kept his heart pumping for as long as it did.

Thank you for the memories you have left me with @big_mac_bully. I love you and I promise to give your boys the best memories like you left my family with.

This is not a goodbye, it’s an I’ll see you later.

Faith over Fear

One of the best men in my life is in another battle. When his wife, @deejayford5 , notified me about the doctor’s notice that his time may be cut short within less than a month, it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever heard.
Luckily my amazing wife @eyem_lauren allowed me to fly out within days and be with @big_mac_bully and his family and I am so thankful for that. I know without a doubt my big fella is gonna work to prove how God works through him.

Thank you everyone for the prayers, but don’t stop them. Keep Rod Ford and his family in your daily talks with God. Thank you Danielle for being the amazing support my brother needs as always and keeping my nephews smiling and laughing through it all.

Rod is no stranger to overcoming battles, him and his doctors are checking all the boxes to make sure he makes it out of this and I pray with all my heart this is going to be another great example of the strength of prayers and God’s miracles.
