From my 3 year old ballet class to signing the wall, this place has been so much more than a studio. It has been my second home, a place where I always knew I had love, support, and encouragement waiting for me.

Dance has been such a huge part of my life, and in many ways I know it always will be. It gave me a way to express emotions without saying a word, a place to connect with my best friends, and an opportunity to pour my heart into something I truly loved.

Words can’t describe the memories held within these walls the laughs, the tears, the wins, the losses, the lessons, and the relationships that shaped me into who I am today. I have been lucky enough to experience something so many people spend their whole lives searching for: a passion that makes you feel alive, surrounded by people who share that same passion beside you.

There are few feelings more powerful than standing on stage with your best friends, doing what you love not for a trophy, not for recognition, but simply because it fills your heart in a way nothing else can.

Although I’m not quite ready to say goodbye, I couldn’t be more grateful for every moment, every teacher, every teammate, and every memory. Thank you to all of the teachers at DED for believing in me, helping me grow into more than just a dancer, giving me confidence, and making even the hardest days better.

Thank you, Drop Everything & Dance, for being one of the most beautiful chapters of my life. I’ll forever be grateful that I got to call this place home. 🤍 by @avaphillips.34

I cannot believe the day has come where I have to say goodbye to my biggest role model and the man whose qualities I can only hope to have one day. He built our family a life that many people can only dream of by always showing up for everyone around him. He gave us unconditional love, and not just to his family anyone who crossed paths with him knew how kind, genuine, and caring he truly was. He lived his life to the fullest, finding beauty in everything. He showed me how far hard work can take you and what true dedication looks like. He is the reason I strive to be the best version of myself and the reason I work so hard every day. Thank you for always being my number one fan. I know you will continue to be my number one fan, even from above. Rest in peace, Jido. I can carry on with a smile on my face knowing you are in a better place and watching over me every day.
