Dear Jiujitsu.

You came at a time in my life when I was lost, struggling, weak, anxious, depressed, angry. You taught me to find calmness in the chaos. You taught me to breathe, when breathing seems impossible. You taught me to think, before acting. You taught me discipline, when I thought I knew it all. You gave me a family i would never have expected to have. You gave me a sense of belonging, I never felt before. You gave me opportunities I never would have came across, had I never walked through those Renzo Gracie Doors.

You gave me respect, and I always promise to do the same.
I’ve done a lot of things in a short amount of time, but getting my blue belt is the proudest thing I’ve done so far.

Thank you bringing me this feeling only some of us will ever get to experience.
