yes, that is a heart monitor. yes, i am okay. no, life will not let me down.

Since starting college I have been to cardiologists, neurologists and many other doctors trying to figure out what’s wrong with me. We still don’t know, we have working diagnoses but it’s just one appointment at a time. It has hit me in every area of life. Most don’t see the things I struggle with on a day to day basis. Feeling so sick and not being able to put into a word what you’re feeling is hard. You start to lose hope that you will ever get a diagnosis. Until someone pushes you to dig yourself out of the trenches. You start living one day at a time because you don’t know if you’re gonna have an episode that day or not so you might as well make the best of it. This is my story, it’s not well written but it’s me. taken in Paris Landing State Park by @ave5is

These two deserve their own special post. They have fostered such a loving place. Without these two I don’t think I would’ve kept coming back as a camper, then as a volunteer counselor then as a staff member. Mama V and Papa G have touched many hearts over these 30+ years here at camp and I just want to say thank you. Thank you for the laughs, the cries, the hard conversations, the easy conversations, and for always believing in me. While I’m sad to see you go, you deserve the break from crazy camp life. I am more than blessed to know y’all. Go and be about the family business!
