Weirdcore is not an aesthetic. It is a symptom, and it has a paper trail.

The first Surrealist Manifesto came out in 1924, six years after a war that made the rational world unreadable. The response was not to explain reality but to render it strange. A century later the same instinct is running through your For You page as blown out flash, empty hallways, and framing that looks like an accident. Different tools, identical logic.

Which is why the perfectly lit brand image is now the least legible thing on the feed.

Together with @laurids.gallee and @dezeen, we created a video for the Victorinox (@victorinox) Re-Imagine initiative — a project that invites designers to rethink the iconic Swiss Army Knife.

In the video, Laurids shares what “reimagining” means to him in his own design practice, and why this competition is about more than just form — it’s about seeing familiar objects with new eyes.

The Re-Imagine competition opens today. You have until February 16, 2026 to submit your idea. Selected concepts will be developed and prototyped, and the winning design will become a limited-edition release in the years to come.

Make sure to check it out.

ART THAT MOVES YOU
Migration Stories, a social format for Fenix by @Studionul & @avecavec.curation.

What happens when you let art speak about migration, in under a minute?
Together with @Studionul, we developed Migration Stories: a short-form format that makes migration tangible through art.

Each episode begins with a single question – Why, How, Who, Where, or When – and unfolds through the perspective of artists moving between worlds.
From De Kooning’s ‘Man in Wainscott’ to Benjamin Li’s ‘Forty Nr.39’ – every story became a lens on human movement.

With the creative influx and edit craft of Studionul, and the conceptual and strategic vision of AVEC AVEC, the format grew into Fenix’s best-performing social series to date.

Because stories of migration are never still.
They move, and they move you. by @avecavec.eu

What if stones were never silent?

Long before cloud storage or code, we carved our stories into stone - our first hard drives, memory etched in mineral.
Now they’re syncing again.
Pebbles become pixels. USBs meet granite.
Stones re-emerge - not as relics, but as portals.
