September is Suicide Awareness Month. I don’t share this for sympathy. I share it because I’m still here and can share! 🫶🏽

I have attempted suicide more than 3 times in my life. And every single time, God sent someone to stop me right in the middle of it. One time, it was His voice that stopped me.
Looking back, I realize how intentional God was about keeping me. Even when I couldn’t see a reason to keep going, He saw the life I would one day live.

Today, I’m grateful to be alive. I’m grateful for my daughter and the baby I’m carrying. I’m grateful for my therapist, my spiritual leaders, and the people God has placed around me who help keep me from returning to that place. The enemy will sometimes try to use my past against me, but my past is not the end of my story.

If you’ve ever been in that place, or you’re there right now, please hear me: your life is worth staying for. Tell somebody. Reach out. Don’t suffer in silence. You don’t have to fight alone.
