Earlier this month, I returned to Chapel Hill to speak at my alma mater. I spent a couple of days with sharp, curious students who are asking the right questions about what journalism should be in this moment.

Our little pearl turned one, and we celebrated “oneder the sea” with so much love, laughter, and joy. In just twelve months, she’s brought a tidal wave of light into our lives brighter than we ever imagined. Thank you to our incredible village who showed up to celebrate her and who continue to surround her with love, guidance, and magic every day. We’re so grateful. 🧜🏾‍♀️🐚🪸 taken in Brooklyn, New York by @averiharper
