A slow, sweet evening at the Belvedere Estate with the most talented creatives filled my cup up to the brim!

@belvedereestate.mi is a very old, yet new (!!), venue that opened this year and is bringing the European vibes to West Michigan. It’s been such a source of inspiration and I cannot wait for all the future days to create in this gorgeous space. For this shoot, @tiffanyltimmer, planner with the @the.grant.collection, (and @olivia.macdonald) curated this shoot to have a moody romantic feel and I couldn’t be more in love!!

@prettypetalpapers where do I even start with your masterful eye? Sharon perfectly executed the feel we were going for and the suite she designed incorporated a hand-painted venue illustration, deep burgundy envelopes, sculpted embossing, gold foil, beautiful die cut shapes, calligraphy, custom wax seals and gold thread. I want to live in her designs!! Couples, if you’re looking for something custom, lux, and that will blow your guests away, she’s your girl!! She also includes flat lay styling, which I can tell you from experience is THE BEST THING EVER.

I cannot even express my gratitude towards @s.o.photoandfilm (Sabrina and Macade) for modeling for this shoot. They are a fellow industry photography/videography duo and they understood the assignment and brought this vision to life!! They’re gorgeous, inside and out!

Gown is of course, @springsweet / @springsweetbride and I’ll forever sing their praises. A dream to work with and perfectly curated, always.

Hair and makeup done by the sweetest, most encouraging team: @afterglostudiomi. Always a dream working with them!

The prettiest florals done by @bluejayfloralstudio. The color palette is everything and more!! Truly executed flawlessly!

I wasn’t planning to write a novel here about this team, but I love working with a cohesive, experienced group with a vision that above all else are encouraging, kind and want to create something beautiful. Likely more to come about this day, but I needed these images on my feed!!

Before the vows, before the first guest arrives, there is a quiet hour when the paper story is laid out and photographed. It is one of the few moments of the wedding day made entirely of stillness.

Styling an invitation suite is an art of its own. Each piece is placed with intention; the hand-painted venue illustration, deep burgundy envelopes, the sculpted embossing, the glint of gold foil against a die cut edge. Your stationery becomes the opening image of your wedding, the photograph that introduces the celebration before a single word is spoken.

Desirea and Marc have been together for 11 years and I’ve been fortunate enough to know them for 5 of those years 🕊️

I met Desirea and Marc during their dating phase and got to photograph their sweet, fresh love. I then got to capture their adorable family after their daughter, Leighton, was born. So getting to document their wedding day was the honor of my life!! These two have built such a beautiful life together 🤍

And, they couldn’t have chosen a prettier day or setting. I’ll never get over these details and their pack of flower girls. It was a dream, all of it!

One thing about me: I’m constantly watching the light.

Light can add so much to the story of your day, the soft sweet sunlight pouring in after a dress change, framing for your details, direct light hitting you just after “I do”, perfect backlighting for portraits. I love.

Christine and BJ, your day was everything and I’ll keep reliving it all for a long time!

I live for a beach engagement session!!

I’ve known Hannah for over 6 years and she’s been a part of many bridal parties I’ve captured over the years. So this evening felt extra special because she found her Noah! He’s her perfect match and celebrating them is EASY!!

I thought it would be fun to walk through why I liked each image I’m sharing here, if that sounds interesting to you? I’m not sure this one even needs an explanation, truthfully! The light peaked through so I angled them into the sun and wowowowow, Hannah!!

Wandering the cobblestone streets in Deià, soaking up the afternoon sun, celebrating love. I simple don’t have enough words for how magical this evening with these two in gorgeous Mallorca was. If you ever get the chance to go to this gorgeous island in Spain, you must jump at the chance. It changed me!

“See you on the other side”

“There’s a chance it may hail during the ceremony”

“I flew to Traverse City and back to Detroit this morning”

Yes, these are all quotes from Luiza and Chris’s PERFECT wedding day!! Let me give you a little context to each because every element was so sweetly tied into what made their day so special.

During their first look and personal vows, both Luiza and Chris referenced a time earlier in their relationship where Luiza said “see you on the other side” to Chris. And on their wedding day they spoke those words back to each other in reference to their ceremony and it was the sweetest “we get each other” moment.

The rain had been teasing us all day with flip flopping the time it was planning to downpour, 30 minutes before the ceremony it really started to come down and Chris and Luiza had to make the decision of whether or not to move their ceremony indoors. Luiza deferred to Chris and he made the call to do it outside!! And though it was wet, it was 100% the move. Shepherds Hollow has such a special, cinematic ceremony location which has a big wow factor.

After the ceremony when Luiza was getting bustled, she looked tearfully at Chris and said “thank you so much for making that decision.” He knew her and what she really wanted, even if it was a tough call in the moment! And, there wasn’t any hail 👏

Chris is in progress of getting his pilots license and had to do a flight the morning of their wedding. I captured the moment he told Luiza he flew to Traverse City that morning, try to guess which photo that moment was!!

It was a great day and working with really exceptionally kind people is such a gift. Adore you both so much!!
