Just me? I’m always impressed by the moms (and dads) who are already looking fresh and fine at 7:30am for school drop off… ;)

Yesterday’s shakey plane ride drawing adventure. Felt extra skilled multitasking drawing and also entertaining the toddler with @playdoh and @magnatiles 💫

I’ve been a loyal @moleskine user for over two decades, and this year, I decided to use it as a weekly sketchbook. Some pages I want to throw out entirely, others I want to turn into actual patterns or illustrations. (And that, of course, is the magic and purpose of a sketchbook).
.
Captured in here: Elliott’s first steps, night skiing at @camdensnowbowl, the February week it was all too much and I canceled everything to have a reset, some really good therapy sessions, the initial idea for The Post Club, seeing owls at @merryspringnaturecenter, watching our garden bloom, drawing with @farnsworthmuseum at The Olson House, collabs with the kids, Claire beginning to play the violin, hunting in the seaweed for crabs, some favorite family phrases, and a million other doodles in between.
.
As a predominantly digital artist, it’s so so so good for me to have a tactile art practice. Would love to lean into this more.
.
We’re in Ohio for the long weekend, so I’ll have to catch up next week. Stayed tuned!

I saw a video of @marnixvanwelie drawing with inks along the tide line this summer and thought it’d be so fun to do with the kids.
.
So, after summer camp one day, we gathered a bunch of friends and inks and paper and seaweed and rocks and sand and giggled and squealed as we painted with the waves.
.
Claire and I then folded our papers into two little booklets, bound them together to make one book, and I drew while she played on the beach.
.
10/10 project, right there. Thanks for the inspo, @marnixvanwelie!

Enjoyed the woods, ate delicious baked goods, learned some hilarious new fun facts, and even got a much-delayed thank you note written. Now, on to football watching and rib eating. I love fall Saturdays!
.
Okay, also, which of those facts is your fave? I was cracking up discovering them.
.
