Belated Czech-American Dialogues post from our Prague concert at the end of June! What a special concert this was + reunion with my incredible @czechfulbright family! Thank you to the amazing villa @the_house.art and @tomasjamnik ‘s wonderful house concert series @vaznyzajem for making this possible, along with my fantastic musical collaborators @isabelkeleti and @tomasjamnik . What a special opportunity this was to highlight composers we focused on during our individual Fulbright projects through collaboration and chamber music. ❤️ by @averyviolin

Tchaikovsky ❤️ When I was 7, my parents took my sister @alexzzzm and I to see Midori perform the Tchaikovsky concerto at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in LA, and we subsequently begged my mom for violin lessons upon hearing the piece. After many technique books and years of repeatedly asking my teachers to play the piece, I finally was assigned it. Tchaikovsky concerto accompanied me through summer festivals as a teenager, first solo travels to college auditions, masterclasses, etc. I heard stories from my high school teacher Alex Treger about his time studying the Tchaikovsky with David Oistrakh and even earlier stories of the “Tchaikovsky sound” from Pyotr Stolyarsky. I feel so grateful for the Prague Academy Chamber Orchestra for the chance to revisit this piece/ friend last month after 10+ years… 🥲 by @averyviolin
