hey friends, avery here… and im over the moon to announce a women’s gathering this weekend!! 🌕

this summer I attended my first full moon ceremony during a training in portugal and felt drawn towards gathering together, slowing down, moving intentionally, and taking time to connect. ever since, i’ve wanted to create something similar and bring more women together!

soooo… Saturday, September 26th from 6–8pm, we’ll be gathering in St. George for some gentle movement, guided journaling, meditation, and time to connect under the full moon 🩵

reminiscing on the first week of my vinyasa + hatha training in portugal with @thepeacefulwarriorsyoga, which started over a month ago… where has the time gone??

the first week was full of high spirits, colors were brighter, the food tasted so sweet, and my eyes were opened to the importance of listening to that little nudge that tells you to bet on yourself :)

it’s so beautiful to look back on the beginning of the relationships and memories formed that will last a lifetime! this was the start of some incredible growth for this incredible group of women. don’t mind me as i share all my mems over the next couple weeks… this experience changed my life 🫶🦋🌱

at the moment my life feels like it’s falling apart. that’s because life as i’ve known it is 🍂

i remember in middle school i was petrified of making the transition to 9th grade… “everything is going to change!!!” tiny avery thought. and it did. quite frankly, it has never stopped changing.

as someone who used to be crippled by this reality, i now view it as life’s greatest gift. every day we have the opportunity to change our perspectives, habits, thoughts, and environment.

we have the opportunity to show up more aligned. more OURSELVES 🌀 filled with life, love, courage, bravery, honesty. change is the only constant in life… in fact, it is PROOF of life.

however, this opportunity can be incredibly scary if we try to find the answers externally or hold on too tightly to how things used to be. don’t forget that you are the only one who has the answer to the question of how YOU should show up each day, in each moment (hint: it’s in the question) 🪬

and if the action you take burns your world to the ground, how beautiful is it that we can always start again 🔥🌱

the word ‘inspiration’ can be translated as: “to breathe life into”

nothing inspires me more than nature, love, grief… everything bigger than me, and everything that lives inside us all.

i’m currently navigating heartbreak, life changes, and the uncertainty that each day brings- yet i am granted a portal to meet myself in the depths. what is grief, if not loving something that is no longer there? and what is love without the gift of life?

if you’re experiencing anything similar, please lean into it. you’ll be amazed by the creation on the other side.

(p.s. this is the first time i am sharing my voice like this 🙃. being vulnerable on the internet with your art is scaryyyyy… but here we do it afraid <3 luv you)

YOGA BEGINS IN THE NOW… growing up with perfectionist and ocd tendencies, it has always been a struggle for me to quiet my mind. i built habits of overthinking, making up fake and harmful scenarios, assuming others’ judgements of me, and could never let go to simply BE in the moment 🌸🌱

practicing yoga has taught me the power of our breath and how we all have the ability to control how we think. over the years i’ve experienced how being still, is sometimes the hardest part of my practice. anchoring into the breath and observing the thoughts and emotions, opposed to identifying with them. it’s FAR from easy, but the more we the show up and allow ourselves to simply be, without judgement or preconceived notions, the easier it is to recognize when the thoughts being to spiral. then we can course correct- USE the breath and movement as a tool to slow the mind 🌀

in the end, all we have is NOW… can we actually allow ourselves to experience this present moment?
