Delhi Police has issued a detailed clarification with video proof.

After social media claims that detained CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke was not informed about his grandmother's demise, Delhi Police held a press conference on October 10. The officer said as soon as information about the death of his grandmother Savitribai Shankar Dipke in Maharashtra reached them, personnel went to him with sensitivity and informed him.

Police said they offered every help — flights, phone calls to parents, and travel assistance to attend last rites. He was asked if he wanted to speak to his parents, which he refused. He was also given time to think. It is now up to him whether he wants to stay back under detention to continue the protest or fly back for the funeral.

In the same briefing, police played CCTV footage of the interaction and said CJP's press conference misrepresented the facts.

Police also explained why the Jantar Mantar protest permission was denied: Last time when permission was given, CJP did not follow undertakings and lockdown directions. The crowd indulged in heavy stone pelting, arson, violence and damaged government property. Considering law and order, Section 163 was imposed banning gatherings, hence Abhijeet and his two associates were detained on Oct 10.

This is what true duty looks like. No bridge, no road, but she still crossed a raging river.

Meet Kamla Devi, a 40-year-old health worker from Sudhar Primary Health Centre in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. In August 2025, after heavy rains and landslides washed away roads and bridges in Chauharghati, cutting off Hurang village, she had one task — vaccinate a 2-month-old baby.

With her medical kit backpack slung over her shoulders and shoes in hand, she was filmed leaping from one slippery boulder to another as the powerful current surged beneath her. One slip and she would have been swept away.

She said, "The vaccination was important, I was worried about the baby, so I decided to go myself."

Her video went viral on NDTV, Indian Express and Economic Times, with netizens calling her a real-life hero and also questioning why health workers have to risk their lives due to lack of infrastructure.

In a world of excuses, she chose courage. In Himachal's floods, humanity still flows stronger than the river.

When an internationally acclaimed electronic music producer weaves a South Asian indie melody into a live set, the internet pays attention.

Belgian DJ Lost Frequencies recently featured an unreleased remix of "Majboor" during a live concert, triggering widespread excitement across music communities.

Footage surfaced showing Lost Frequencies dropping a driving electronic edit of "Majboor" from behind his console. The clip prompted a direct response from original singer Sheheryar Rehan, who publicly applauded the flip and noted the plush toys decorating the DJ deck. Lost Frequencies acknowledged the praise by pinning Rehan’s comment and responding with words of gratitude.

Originally created by Sheheryar Rehan alongside Zoha Waseem, "Majboor" emerged as a major grassroots indie hit over recent months. Meanwhile, Lost Frequencies remains a fixture on the global festival circuit, renowned for chart-topping melodic house productions. The unexpected blend of a soulful indie arrangement with international club production immediately caught the attention of fans from both scenes.

The moment marks another notable instance of regional South Asian melodies finding resonance in global electronic music circuits. Although neither artist has confirmed whether the edit is intended solely as a festival club bootleg or as an upcoming official collaborative release, the public exchange has fueled growing anticipation for cross-border releases.

Do you think South Asian indie tracks translate well into global electronic festival anthems?

KARMA HITS HARD, 2025: Maa Kali in a prison van. 2026: Mamata Banerjee herself in a prison van.

In October 2025, in Kakdwip, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal Police took away a vandalized Maa Kali idol in a police van for immersion. BJP alleged, "Mamata's police took Maa Kali in a prison van! Shame, shame."

One year later, on October 10, 2026, former CM Mamata Banerjee was detained in Delhi during the CJP protest at South Avenue. The Hindu confirms she and five TMC MPs were put in a prison van and driven for two hours to Dwarka North Police Station, where she staged a dharna alleging she was "kidnapped."

From an idol in a police van to a leader in a prison van — netizens are calling it a full-circle karma moment.

He has never seen the world, yet he gives Maa Durga her face every year. Meet Ram Pal — the artisan who sculpts divinity with just his fingertips.

50-year-old Ram Pal from Basti, Uttar Pradesh, has been blind since birth. Working seasonally with bamboo, straw and clay, he has brought over 700 sacred idols of Goddess Durga and Lord Ganesha to life. Unable to check proportions or expressions visually, he runs his fingers over every curve and crease to ensure perfect symmetry and detail.

Originally from West Bengal, Ram Pal was introduced to idol-making at age 4 by his father Vinayak Krishna Pal and spent nearly a decade mastering the craft. Without formal schooling, he turned his ancestral skill into his life's vocation. Today, supported by his wife Kanchan and family, he creates dozens of idols every festive season and was honoured with the Sharad Samman in 2020.

His work is more than craft — it is a testament to resilience, tactile memory and devotion. It proves that to imagine sacred art, you don't need eyes, you need faith and decades of mastery.

Police boarded the flight right after it landed.
All three top leaders of Cockroach Janta Party detained inside the aircraft at Delhi Airport.

According to News18, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, along with spokespersons and Ashutosh Ranka, were detained from a flight that arrived from Mumbai on October 10 morning. Dipke went live on as a Delhi Police team entered the plane, showing commotion inside. He was heard saying, "You could have waited till we came out. Come arrest us, we are not afraid."

The leaders were heading to Jantar Mantar for a planned protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in SIR of electoral rolls. Delhi Police had denied permission for the protest.

The detentions come amid heightened security across the capital, with over 200 detentions reported, metro restrictions, and heavy deployment.

Is detaining leaders inside a flight a necessary step to maintain law and order for an unauthorised protest, or does it raise concerns about dissent?

What do you think about police boarding a flight to detain protest leaders?

High-profile creator Dhruv Rathee has been detained by police at his Gurugram residence just hours before a scheduled demonstration in the national capital.

The early-morning action comes alongside unprecedented transit curbs, shut metro stations, and heavy police deployment across New Delhi.

Officers arrived at Rathee's residence in Sector 56, Gurugram, early Saturday morning, taking him into preventive custody shortly after 7:45 AM. The preventive detention was executed to stop his participation in the planned assembly at Jantar Mantar, for which administrative clearance had been denied under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita.

The demonstration, led by the Cockroach Janta Party alongside several civil and student factions, centres on demands concerning Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and alleged discrepancies regarding the Special Intensive Revision of electoral registers. In response to the planned mass gathering, authorities rolled out extensive preventive measures, including closing dozens of metro gates, rerouting trains, and deploying hundreds of personnel at transit hubs.

The preventive detention of one of India's most recognized digital commentators has triggered an intense national conversation around civil liberties, assembly rights, and institutional scrutiny. While law enforcement maintains these interventions are crucial to avoid major public disruption, opposition groups and supporters argue the preventive measures stifle legitimate dissent.

Do you think preventive detentions and citywide shutdowns are justified to manage public order during political protests?

Fatherhood is defined not by biological ties, but by the courage to never let go.

Across 123 government identity cards in Maharashtra, one father's name stands for lifelong shelter and dignity

In Amravati, Maharashtra, 84-year-old social worker Shankar Baba Papalkar has built an extraordinary sanctuary for children abandoned at railway stations, bus stops, and garbage bins due to severe intellectual or physical disabilities. Refusing to let them remain nameless, Papalkar formally registered his own name as the legal father on every one of their Aadhaar cards, granting each child legal identity, citizenship, and protection.

Establishing his ashram in Wazzar across 25 acres of barren land in 1990, Papalkar took in 123 specially-abled children, funding their nutrition, medical treatments, and education without running donation campaigns. When government norms mandated that orphans vacate shelter homes upon turning 18, Baba took on authorities directly, insisting that intellectually impaired individuals cannot simply be abandoned on the streets to beg or be exploited.

Through his unwavering devotion, 24 of his children have had marriages solemnized, 12 have secured formal government employment, and more than 15,000 trees were planted across the sanctuary. In one celebrated milestone, Mala Papalkar—a visually impaired girl found abandoned in a Jalgaon dustbin as an infant—cracked the competitive MPSC examinations to become a state officer. Conferred the Padma Shri in 2024, Shankar Baba proves that unconditional love can overcome institutional indifference.

What does Shankar Baba Papalkar’s lifelong devotion teach us about true humanitarian service?

October 10, 2011. The day the ghazal fell silent.
15 years later, his voice still fills our rooms, our heartbreaks, and our quiet nights.

Today marks the 15th death anniversary of Jagjit Singh, the Ghazal King. The legendary singer, recipient of the Padma Bhushan, passed away in Mumbai on October 10, 2011, at the age of 70 after suffering a brain haemorrhage. Born as Jagmohan Singh Dhiman on February 8, 1941 in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, he became the most loved voice outside film music.

Along with his wife Chitra Singh, he pioneered modern ghazal music as the first successful husband-wife duo in Indian recorded music. From 'Hothon Se Chhu Lo Tum' to 'Tum Itna Jo Muskura Rahe Ho' and 'Koi Fariyaad', he made complex Urdu poetry accessible with simple words and his deep baritone.

He didn't just sing ghazals, he made an entire generation feel less alone in love and loss. In a world of fast music, his slow, soulful renditions are still the most saved, most shared at 2 AM. Which Jagjit Singh ghazal still lives on your playlist?
