When I joined FBLA in freshman year, I never would have believed I would be where I am today.

Last week, I attended the 2026 FBLA National Leadership Conference and ran for Eastern Region Vice President. For months, I had prepared my campaign materials and campaigned during the conference. Those 3 seconds before the 26-27 Eastern Region Vice President was announced felt surreal… but the moment (and even days) afterwards felt even more unreal. I am so unbelievably grateful to have been given this absolutely incredible opportunity to serve the organization I love so much as Eastern Region Vice President and to continue to grow into the leader my younger self always strived to be.

To Team 73 - Seeing you all inspired me to get more involved in FBLA. When I interviewed many of you, I realized how much talent there is within FBLA. That motivated me to seek out more people like me, and I found them.

To Team 74 - This past year, I looked up to all of you. Pari, seeing you simultaneously help lead NJ and the Eastern Region inspired me to one day hopefully do the same, and I know you are going to be extremely successful! Now I ask myself, how can I contribute to FBLA to make an impact like you all did?

To Team 75 - I am so excited to work with all of you, and I am beyond proud of the work everyone has done to get to where they are today!!! Being able to grow together is going to be one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

To Mrs. Clark and Jatin - You were the ones who gave me this opportunity in the first place. I’m grateful that you saw something in me. When I received that email notifying me that I was selected to represent NJ, I felt I had to do whatever it took to serve NJ FBLA.

To my campaign team - Every single one of you had a role to play in the success of this NLC. Whether it be greeting members each day, contributing at the late night meeting, or working at my booth, I couldn't have done it without all of you.

Thank you, FBLA, for electing me as your 2026-2027 Eastern Region Vice President! I am excited to see what great times, challenges, and experiences this year brings! by @avi.rao97

We are more than proud to share that we are featured in an article written by Amanda Oglesby from the Asbury Park Press. Getting the chance to share our story and our initiative with New Jersey and hopefully the world is something we never imagined would happen. SLC 2026 was one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life.

I ran for NJFBLA Membership VP and ultimately lost, but the experience of being a state officer candidate and campaigning was incredible

From meeting all the candidates at 9 am on Sunday to practicing campaign sales pitches at AC Burger Co to being barely able to stand at closing ceremony, I am so proud and grateful to have had this experience.

To all the 25-26 State Officers, I have really enjoyed getting to know you guys from NFLC to SFLC to SLC and all the interviews. It has been awesome and I know you all have such bright futures.

To my campaign team, I really can’t thank you guys enough for your effort. Regardless of the result, you helped me put together an incredible campaign. I couldn't have asked for more from you.

To all the 26-27 State Officers, I know you all will do an incredible job and I’m super excited to see what you accomplish this year!

To the candidates that lost, I’m proud of you too. Every single candidate developed a great campaign and everybody is going to do great things. I encourage you all to take pride in this experience and continue working hard.

Last week we went to Trenton to advocate for Bill S3462, a bill that would require financial literacy in all New Jersey high schools.

We spoke before the State Education Committee and we’re proud to say it passed committee!

Today was a very fun and productive day! We focused on the importance of setting financial goals and why having a plan for your money matters. With the kids, we discussed spending with good intentions, saving for future goals, and setting money aside for emergencies or unexpected situations.

For our activity of the day, the kids were told they had $100 and worked in groups to decide three different things they could do with that money. The discussions were thoughtful, creative, and showed a strong understanding of the ideas we covered. by @avi.rao97

Today was our first-ever meeting, and it went really well. We introduced the idea of budgeting and talked about what it means to manage money wisely. The group also learned about the difference between income and expenses, and why understanding needs versus wants matters when planning how to use money.

The kids practiced these concepts by doing a group activity using Starbursts as “money.” Working together, they divided their Starbursts into needs, wants, and savings based on the budgeting guidelines we discussed. Overall, the kids learned how to save effectively and demonstrated it very well. Always remember the 50/30/20 rule! taken in Boys and Girls Club by @avi.rao97
