The Loten’s Sunbird.Pic 1 - Male & Pic 2 - Female.An absolute gem. Probably the most beautiful sunbirds species you find in or around Bengaluru. I had to wait for few weeks to get a decent picture of this bird and luckily not too far from home.The Loten’s Sunbird, like other sunbirds, is a dedicated nectar feeder, often favoring specific flowering plants much like butterflies and moths. Among the blooms surrounding my home, it prefers the delicate oleanders and wild passion flowers. All nectar-feeding creatures like bees, flies, and birds play a crucial role as pollinators in our environment. They are nature’s diligent gardeners. In this intricate web of life, there are those who disperse seeds, those who enrich the soil with nutrients, those who aid in soil fertility, and those who manage plant growth. Each being shapes and balances our ecosystem. Hard to catch and ever moving, Yellow-eyed Babbler.This tiny creature appears to spend most of its waking hours arguing with grass, inspecting invisible insects, and looking mildly concerned about absolutely everything.Notice the striking yellow eye the nature's equivalent of having had three cups of coffee before sunrise.Though small in stature, the Yellow-eyed Babbler carries itself with the confidence of a bird at least ten times its size, patrolling the scrublands as if it personally owns the entire ecosystem.A remarkable little character, proving once again that in the natural world, personality often outweighs feathers.#NikonZ6II📸 #sigma150600mmcontemporary #blrwt #BengaluruWildTribe by @avian_flicks
